Top Attractions and Events in The Sweetest Place On Earth This Month

Welcome, May! With summer right around the corner,  The Sweetest Place On Earth has a ton of exciting things to do this month. Keep reading to see some of the highlights.

Hersheypark  Open Weekends in May and Daily Starting May 25 

Hersheypark fun continues this month with thrilling roller coasters, family-friendly attractions, Hershey’s character hugs, delicious sweet treats and more! Hersheypark is open for Spring Weekends through May 21 and then daily for the Summer season Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day (May 25 through Sept. 4). 

The Boardwalk at Hersheypark water park officially opens to the public on Saturday, May 27 with 16 fun attractions and over one million gallons of water! Tickets include three parks in one with classic family rides and coasters, The Boardwalk and access to ZooAmerica when entered from inside the Park.

Guests can visit our website to save on 1-day and 2-day tickets when purchasing online. Tickets are valid on any 2023 public operating day through Jan. 1, 2024. Don’t forget - 2023 Hersheypark Pass Holders can enjoy unlimited visits this season as part of their year-long perks.

May 2: Attend a Hersheypark  Hiring Event

Hersheypark is hiring for its 2023 season! Individuals interested in working in The Sweetest Place On Earth can apply, interview and get hired on the spot at a Hiring Event on Tuesday, May 2 from 4-7 p.m. at Milton's Ice Cream Parlor at Hersheypark.

Roles are available in the following departments: 

  • Attractions / Ride Operator
  • Lifeguard
  • Food & Beverage 
  • Games / Retail 
  • Sanitation and Utilities 
  • Guest Experience
  • Safety and Security 
  • The Chocolatier Restaurant, Bar + Patio
  • Hersheypark Leadership Development Internship


Our recruitment team members will assist attendees with the application process, interview and hire qualified candidates on the spot. New team members receive many company perks including free admission to Hersheypark, discounts on retail and dining outlets, flexible schedules and more! Each new hire will receive a sweet scoop of ice cream, compliments of Milton’s Ice Cream Parlor

May 3: See a Hershey Bears  Playoff Game

The Hershey Bears’ pursuit of the franchise’s 12th Calder Cup is underway! The Bears are battling with the Charlotte Checkers in the Atlantic Division Semifinals of the 2023 Calder Cup Playoffs. It’s a best-of-five series, with the first two games in Charlotte, and the rest in Chocolatetown. 

Game 3 in Hershey is set for Wednesday, May 3 at 7 p.m. If necessary, Game 4 would be Thursday, May 4 at 7 p.m., and a decisive Game 5 would be Sunday, May 7 at 5 p.m.

May 14: Mother’s Day Brunch at Hershey Lodge

This Mother’s Day, treat Mom to a sweet meal with the whole family at Hershey Lodge. Mother's Day Brunch will be held in the Chocolate Ballroom from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will feature a variety of food stations, cocktails, and, of course, desserts. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 717‑520‑5489 through 5 p.m. on May 9.

There is an exciting variety of entertainment coming to GIANT Center, Hersheypark Stadium, and Hershey Theatre this month, including the kick off to the Summer Concert Series!

May 5-6 at GIANT Center: Nate Bargatze (times vary)

Stand-up comedian Nate Bargatze is selling out shows worldwide on his “Raincheck Tour,” which sold out two shows at Hershey Theatre in Fall 2021. He will return to Hershey in the Spring of 2023 with “The Be Funny Tour.” Bargatze’s comedy is both clean and relatable, evident in his ten appearances on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.

May 20 at GIANT Center: Shane Gillis, Tim Dillon, Nick Mullen, Big Jay Oakerson (7 p.m.)

Comedians Shane Gillis, Tim Dillon, Nick Mullen and Big Jay Oakerson are joining forces for a night of comedy at GIANT Center, one of only two events in the U.S. to feature the powerhouse lineup.

May 22 at GIANT Center: WWE Monday Night RAW (7:30 p.m.)

For the first time in nearly 12 years, WWE Monday Night RAW returns to Hershey! See your favorite RAW Superstars including Seth "Freaking" Rollins, United States Champion Austin Theory, RAW Women's Champion Bianca Belair, Becky Lynch, Bayley, Kevin Owens, Bobby Lashley, AJ Styles & The O.C. and many more.

Daryl Hall at Hershey Theatre
May 26 at Hershey Theatre: Daryl Hall with Special Guest Todd Rundgren (7:30 p.m.)

Rock and Roll Hall of Famers and Pennsylvania natives Daryl Hall and Todd Rundgren are coming to Hershey Theatre with the Daryl's House Band. The show is part of an expansion of Daryl Hall’s first solo tour in a decade and supports the release of “Before After,” his first solo record in over a decade. Hall is best known for his duo group with John Oates, who visited GIANT Center in 2020. 

Blink 182 at Hersheypark Stadium
May 27 at Hersheypark Stadium: Blink-182 (7:30 p.m.) 

Blink-182 has announced its biggest tour, a colossal global outing with Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge and Travis Barker reuniting for the first time in nearly 10 years. Produced by Live Nation, the worldwide trek includes the band's first-ever performances in Latin America, along with stops in North America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, starting March 2023 through February 2024. 

Boz Scaggs at Hershey Theatre
May 28 at Hershey Theatre: Boz Scaggs (8 p.m.)

Born William Royce Scaggs, Boz Scaggs is known for his fusion of R&B, rock and blues influences. His five-decade musical career includes three Top 40 hit singles with "It's Over," "Lido Shuffle" and the Grammy-winning "Lowdown."

Dine At The Chocolatier

The Chocolatier Restaurant, Bar + Patio is open daily in Hershey's Chocolatetown. Guests can enjoy sweet treats and savory eats throughout the month including new seasonal items, such as a Summer Berry Salad, Pasta Primavera, Peach Upside Down Cake, S’mores Milkshake and eight new cocktails. Reservations for The Chocolatier are available online.

Last call for Happy Hour at The Chocolatier! Join us Monday - Thursday from 4-6 p.m. through May 25 at the bar top to enjoy discounted featured cocktails, draft beer, appetizer, and more. 

Try The New Spring Menu At Houlihan’s

Houlihan’s Restaurant + Bar is excited to introduce their new spring menu to their guests in Hershey, PA! Located in downtown Hershey, the Houlihan’s menu is filled with the season's fresh flavors in new apps, entrees and cocktails, and welcomes back a few guest-favorite dishes, too.

Houlihan’s is open for lunch and dinner daily with indoor and outdoor seating (weather permitting), plus happy hour available Monday-Friday from 4-6 p.m. Reservations are highly encouraged and can be made online.

Visit  ZooAmerica

A visit to the zoo is the perfect family activity on a sweet spring day. ZooAmerica North American Wildlife Park is open daily in May for guests to enjoy the fresh air while seeing the North American animals. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from May 1-28 and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on May 29-31.

Reminder: Hersheypark tickets include entry to ZooAmerica only by accessing the zoo through the Hersheypark bridge during posted park hours. Those interested in visiting ZooAmerica in the morning before Hersheypark opens will have to purchase separate zoo admission tickets.

Relax With A Seasonal Spa Treatment at  MeltSpa by Hershey
