ZooAmerica to Host Sensory Friendly Morning on Jan. 25, 2020

Guests will Experience Modified Exhibits for Sensory-Friendly Fun!

A visit to ZooAmerica North American Wildlife Park is sure to stimulate the basic senses, which often enhances the overall guest experience. However, seeing, hearing and smelling the animals can be very overwhelming for those with sensory needs. To ensure that every guest enjoys their visit to the Zoo, ZooAmerica is hosting a special Sensory Friendly Morning on Saturday, Jan. 25, from 9-11 a.m.

The Zoo will open an hour early and offer activities designed for guests with sensory sensitivities. Visitors will experience modified lights and sounds in select exhibits, as well as special animal encounters and displays. Calming rooms will be available for any guests who need to take a break.

The best part? Kids 8 and under get in for FREE as part of the last Discovery Weekend. Regular admission is $13.

To prepare guests for their visit, the ZooAmerica team created a map of the Zoo containing a sensory guide. The map has indicators of where guests might experience loud noises, bright lighting and certain smells. A sensory friendly worksheet is also available for download to help prepare young guests for their visit.
