Tips for Visiting Hersheypark Christmas Candylane

Tips for VisitingHersheypark Christmas CandylaneFor many people, Hersheypark Christmas Candylane is an annual tradition- the four million twinkling lights, the sounds, the smells and the food! So much to see and do.

If you’ve previously visited Candylane, you probably have your own list of “favorites.” But for any new guests, I have some tips to help you make the most of your holiday visit.

New for 2015: Four roller coasters are open!

Tip # 1: Cocoa Cruiser, sooperdooperLooper, Wildcat and Laff Trakk.

Riding the tracks with the wind in your hair in December! YES! So, my first tip is take an exhilarating winter coaster ride. Laff Trakk is our indoor, spinning, glow-coaster so the outside temperature will not affect your indoor experience.

Tip #2: Music Box Christmas Show- “The Littlest Christmas Tree.”

This energetic singing and dancing show is guaranteed to put you in the Christmas spirit. And, as one of my coworkers said, “Best Santa ever!” Santa’s suit is old school, gorgeous, regal and decked out in glorious white fur. And, Santa dances.

Tip #3: Makin’ Whoopie Pies Hot Chocolate.

I am a lover of all things chocolate; there I admitted it! The creators of the famous Lancaster county whoopie pies have managed to take the steaming beverage and lift it up a notch. They have blended their yummy fillings into the hot chocolate and created something truly scrumptious.

Tip # 4: Candylane Twilight Express.

Step aboard and take a holiday ride on a steam-driven locomotive. This relaxing ride is a family favorite and almost seems to turn back time as it chugs through brightly colored light displays. The end of the journey takes you through a tunnel enclosed in tiny white lights and enveloped in the steam of the engine.

Tip #5: Santa’s Nine Live Reindeer.

I must admit I had never seen a real reindeer before I made my first visit to Candylane. They really are much smaller than I anticipated. It does make you wonder how they pull Santa’s sleigh and all those toys. But, as I learned at Candylane, that is the magic of Christmas.

These are just some of my favorite things at Hersheypark Christmas Candylane. Please share some of your favorites. You can also follow Hersheypark on Facebook or #Hersheypark on Twitter and @Hersheypark on Instagram to read about and see more of our favorite Christmas Candylane memories.
