The Chocolatier Restaurant, Bar + Patio To Open May 29 in Hershey's Chocolatetown

All-New, Full-Service Restaurant at Hersheypark Serves Up Fun, Food and Drinks

Hersheypark amusement park today announced that The Chocolatier Restaurant, Bar + Patio will open in the new Hershey’s Chocolatetown region on May 29, 2021. 

The all-new, full-service restaurant, bar and patio serves up fun, food and drinks and features past and present pieces from the Hersheypark ride collection, one-of-a-kind views of neighboring attractions, and a second-story patio and bar. Guests can head outside to enjoy lunch, dinner, or drinks from the patio bar with panoramic views of Hersheypark that you don’t want to miss.

The Chocolatier celebrates the life and legacy of our founder, Milton S. Hershey, by continuing to bring people together for happiness, fun, and of course, chocolate. Learn more about the story behind The Chocolatier here.

A Fun To Table Menu

The menu at The Chocolatier features classic family fare with a fun spin and hints of chocolate.

Guests can enjoy a selection of shareables before their main course, including a Ferris Wheel Sampler with Hershey's chocolate barbecue chicken wings, crispy mozzarella, classic chicken tenders, buffalo chicken dip, and soft pretzel dippers. 

Big plates include Cocoa-Dusted Beef Short Ribs, Chicken & Waffles (inspired by one of Mr. Hershey's favorite dishes), Hershey's Cocoa Barbecue Ribs, Filet Mignon rubbed with coffee and Hershey's cocoa, Corkscrew Pomodoro, and more.

Guests can also choose from a variety of soups and salads, flatbreads, burgers and handhelds, such as the Hershey Triple Tower Turkey Club, Chocolatetown Burger, and Cocoa Cuban to name a few.

Chocolate-Inspired Signature Desserts

When in Hershey, guests should save room for the signature dessert menu filled with Hershey’s chocolate-inspired treats.

Dessert offerings include S'more Than Chocolate Cake & Ice Cream, Chocolate Chip Cookie Skillet, Chocolate Fun-due, Sooper Dooper Ice Cream Sundae, among others. Four over-the-top milkshakes - Hershey's Chocolate, Hersheypark Happy Birthday Cake, Reese's Peanut Butter and Strawberry Twist - will also be available.

Cocktails at The Carrousel Bar

Guests can watch bartenders craft cocktails behind a Carrousel-themed bar inspired by one of the most-storied Hersheypark attractions. The cocktail menu showcases over-the-top ingredients such as Hershey’s candies and cotton candy. Guests ages 21 and older can enjoy White Lightning Racer, Frozen Hot Chocolate, Reese's Cupfusion Old Fashioned, seven different martinis, and more.

The Sweetest Team

The Chocolatier features an open kitchen led by Executive Chef Rick Larsen and Corporate Pastry Chef Cher Harris.

Rick Larsen joins The Sweetest Place On Earth with more than a dozen years of culinary experience throughout the Northeast region. Most recently, he worked as Chef de Cuisine at Major League Baseball stadiums, including Citi Field, home of the New York Mets, and Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox. He earned degrees in both Culinary Arts and Restaurant Management from the Institute of Culinary Education in New York and has held positions at American-style restaurants, including celebrity chef Bobby Flay’s Bar Americain in New York. Larsen also competed on Food Network’s “Iron Chef America” as Sous Chef to Bobby Flay in 2012.

Cher Harris, CEPC, is responsible for developing the strategy and vision for pastry operations throughout Hershey Entertainment & Resorts. Prior to joining the organization, Harris started her career at Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC) as a pastry chef and education specialist and was a pastry cook at Bent Creek Country Club in Lititz, PA. Harris is a graduate of HACC’s Culinary Arts & Hospitality Management program. Harris has earned a number of awards and accolades including winning the 2017 Global Chef Challenge Semi-Finals for the Americas; “Pastry Chef of the Year (2016)” by the American Culinary Federation (ACF); and the 2014 “The Pastry Queen” at The Ladies' World Pastry Championship in Rimini, Italy. She was recognized by Dessert Professional Magazine as one of the Top Ten Pastry Chefs in America in 2014 and was also selected as a presenter and featured chef at the Powerful Women in Culinary Event in Beijing, China. Harris has been honored through competition with three ACF gold and two bronze medals.

The Completion of Hershey's Chocolatetown

The opening of The Chocolatier will mark the completion of the $150 million transformational expansion of the new Hershey’s Chocolatetown region at Hersheypark. The 23-acre development boasts Candymonium, the tallest, fastest, longest and sweetest coaster at Hersheypark; an entirely reimagined arrival experience and front gate; the iconic Kisses Fountain; the first-ever Starbucks inside Hersheypark; Hersheypark Supply Co., the largest collection of apparel, gifts, toys and more exclusive to Hersheypark as part of a new 10,000-square-foot flagship store; Milton's Ice Cream Parlor and The Sweeterie Confectionery Kitchen; and more.

Guests interested in visiting Hersheypark for its 115th season can save more than 35% on 1-day tickets with the current online offer through April 30. For the first time ever, tickets purchased during this sale will be valid any 2021 public operating day through Jan. 2, 2022. Tickets include three parks in one with a wide range of family-friendly and thrill attractions; The Boardwalk At Hersheypark water park (open Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend) with one million gallons of water; and ZooAmerica North American Wildlife Park (only by accessing the zoo through the Hersheypark bridge during posted park hours).
