Hersheypark Halloween and Dark Nights Named Top 10 Best Theme Park Halloween Event in 2023

Seasonal event ranked #6 in USA TODAY 10Best Readers Readers' Choice Awards

The votes are in! Hersheypark Halloween with Dark Nights immersive haunt experience was named a top 10 winner in the USA TODAY 10Best Readers' Choice travel award contest for Best Theme Park Halloween Event in 2023. The seasonal event at the largest amusement park in Pennsylvania ranked #6 overall.

Twenty nominees across the country were chosen by a panel of relevant experts, including editors from USA TODAY, editors from 10Best.com, relevant expert contributors, and sources for both these media and other Gannett properties.

Visit the Award-Winning Halloween Event Through Oct. 29

Hersheypark Halloween and Dark Nights are open on weekends through Oct. 29, with family-friendly offerings during the day and new thrills at night - all included in the one-price admission. 

  • Thrills all day and night on 50 rides and attractions, weather and maintenance permitting
  • Lights-out rides on the award-winning Wildcat’s Revenge hybrid coaster celebrating its first fall and other select coasters during the last hour of Hersheypark Halloween operations
  • Trick-or-treating for children 12 and under along the Hershey’s Trick-Or-Treat Trail with 13 candy stops 
  • Hershey Character glow dance parties and photo opportunities 
  • Five haunted houses and three Scare Zones, including the all-new Auntie Mortem’s Abattoir and Fallout Zone, beginning nightly at 6 p.m.
  • The original Creatures Of The Night flashlight tour at ZooAmerica North American Wildlife Park starting Oct. 13

Plus, guests can get a taste of the season with more than 75 limited-time savory eats, sweet treats and cocktails exclusive to Halloween available for purchase throughout the Park.

Hersheypark Halloween event hours are 5-10 p.m. Fridays, 12-10 p.m. Saturdays and 12-9 p.m. Sundays. Dark Nights begins nightly at 6 p.m. and extends one hour after the Park closes - Fridays and Saturdays until 11 p.m. and Sundays until 10 p.m.

New for this year, the haunted houses are included with a Hersheypark Halloween ticket, so guests can play by day and fright at night for an incredible value starting at just $49.99 plus taxes and fees when purchased online.
