HE&R Celebrates Global Diversity Awareness Month 2022

In celebration of Global Diversity Awareness Month, this email was sent to Hershey Entertainment & Resorts team members. 

Hello everyone, 

October is Global Diversity Awareness Month and serves as a reminder of the positive impact a diverse culture of people can have on society as a whole. From industry, performing arts, food, fashion, and generational traditions, diverse cultures enrich our lives and broaden our perspectives. Throughout the month, Hershey Entertainment & Resorts (HE&R) pays tribute to cultures and beliefs worldwide. 

Although it is hard to pinpoint the start of Global Diversity Awareness Month, National Today.com states, “After the Second World War, The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly at the Palais de Chaillot, in Paris. The Declaration represents the first global expression of rights to which all human beings are inherently entitled. It is essentially an acknowledgment that we should remember and understand the value of each human being, regardless of their nationality, color, race, sex, gender, country of origin, language, or otherwise.” 

Our culinary teams across the destination are creating diverse flavors from across the globe for their team members. Throughout October, [team members are encouraged to] take time to connect with teammates over foods from countries including El Salvador, India, Greece, and Egypt. We hope team members take advantage of this ‘tasty’ opportunity to enjoy cuisine from places near and far. 

A big thank you to our food & beverage teams at The Hotel Hershey, Hershey Lodge, and Hersheypark Entertainment Complex for their creativity and participation in Global Diversity Awareness Month!
