Exclusive Dark Ride Experiences During Hersheypark In The Dark

Thrill-Seekers Enjoy Lights Out Rides on Select Roller Coasters

Calling all thrill-seekers! Have you ever gone on a roller coaster in the complete darkness? If you have then you know how exhilarating of an experience it is for riders. If you answered no, we've got you covered! There are still four weekends to experience exclusive lights-out rides on four coasters and other dark ride opportunities during Hersheypark In The Dark. Here is a list of unique ride experiences you can't miss when visiting Hersheypark for the Halloween season.

Night Rides on Candymonium

This is the first season for night rides on Candymonium, the tallest, fastest, longest and sweetest coaster in Hersheypark that opened this summer in the all-new Hershey's Chocolatetown region. The hypercoaster takes riders on a heart-pounding, 210-foot ascent up the tallest hill in Hersheypark and then dips into thrilling drops including 7 camelback hills that serve up the ultimate feeling of freedom with the most airtime of any our coasters. The hair-raising ride ends with a panoramic banked curve around the iconic Kisses fountain, which is lit up for the Halloween season. For an even spookier experience, a themed light package for Candymonium will be turned on during the last hour of operation each evening of Hersheypark In The Dark.

Exclusive Lights-Off Rides on Four Coasters

During Hersheypark In The Dark, guests can experience the lights off from open to close on Laff Trakk, the first indoor, spinning, glow-coaster in the United States, and Lightning Racer, the first wooden racing/dueling coaster in the United States. On Lightning Racer, riders can race their family and friends on the double-track wooden roller coaster in the dark for a thrilling element of competition.

Comet and Wildcat will have the lights turned off during the last hour of operation for Hersheypark In The DarkComet, the oldest coaster in operation at Hersheypark, is best known for several airtime-producing bunny hills and more than 6,500 chaser lights that provide an out-of-this-world, shooting star experience. Wildcat sends riders barreling over hills, bumps and turns at speeds of 45 miles per hour.

Other High Thrill Roller Coasters At Night

There's nothing quite like riding a roller coaster after dusk. Talk about hair-raising thrills! There are plenty of opportunities for guests to enjoy night rides on some of our aggressive thrill coasters like Skyrush, Fahrenheit, Great Bear and Sidewinder during Hersheypark In The Dark.

Interactive Dark Gaming Ride

In the amusement park industry, Reese's Cupfusion is considered a true dark ride. The interactive gaming ride features the most targets in the world and provides a full-sensory adventure for guests of nearly any age. Riders are assigned an important mission to become an agent, protect the factory and ensure the world is never deprived of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups by stunning intruders and activating Factory Power Ports using an amplifier. There is even a Halloween scene!

Hersheypark In The Dark is open Oct. 9-11, Oct. 16-18, Oct. 23-25 and Oct. 30-Nov. 1. Event hours are Fridays 5 to 9 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays 2 to 9 p.m. In addition to dark rides, check out these other ways to enjoy Halloween fun at Hersheypark.
