The Hotel Hershey Appoints New General Manager
Bill Hendrix to Fill Role on May 1, 2017
Bill has proven to be a skilled leader during his time at The Hotel Hershey. His success and service to our company, supplemented by his experience at premier hospitality companies across the country, make him the perfect person to fill the general manager role at the Hotel.
Hershey Entertainment & Resorts Company (HE&R) announced today the promotion of Bill Hendrix to the position of general manager of The Hotel Hershey, effective May 1, 2017. Hendrix has been in leadership roles at the property for more than a decade, which includes his current position as the Hotel’s assistant general manager. Earlier this month, current general manager Brian O’Day announced his retirement, effective April 30, 2017 after 14 years of service as general manager at The Hotel Hershey.
In his new position, Hendrix will oversee the entire operation of The Hotel Hershey, a AAA Four Diamond, Forbes Four Star historic property built by chocolate magnate Milton S. Hershey. The Hotel welcomes guests to its 276 guest rooms; three restaurants, coffee shop and poolside café; The Spa At The Hotel Hershey; more than 25,000 square feet of meeting space; The Shops At The Hotel Hershey; and recreation offerings. He will also oversee the operation of Hershey Laundry & Dry Cleaning.
During his tenure at The Hotel Hershey, Hendrix was part of the leadership team overseeing “The Grand Expansion” in celebration of the property’s 75th anniversary in 2008. The expansion included an enhanced registration area, the addition of The Shops At The Hotel Hershey, Woodside Cottages, outdoor pool and recreation complexes and Harvest, a restaurant. He also managed the development of a new fitness center, putting green and indoor pool renovation in 2014.
Hendrix has more than 23 years of rooms, housekeeping and front of house experience in the hotel and resort industries throughout the United States. Prior to joining HE&R, Hendrix spent five years at various Ritz-Carlton properties, including Lake Las Vegas and Pentagon City locations. He also has seven years of experience with Four Seasons at properties including Four Seasons Hotel at Beverly Hills and Four Season Resort and Club in Irving, Texas.
