The Hershey Bears Honor Our Veterans

The Hershey Bears are hosting their annual Seats for Soldiers/Hometown Heroes Night on Sunday, November 13 this season.

The Bears don’t just have the best fans in the AHL, but they also have the most giving. Over 800 tickets were donated to military members at last season’s night and we are excited to see that number grow even more this year.

“This is my second year of participation and I look forward to many more. It's a small gesture that I or anyone else participating can do to thank and show our appreciation to those who give so much that we can go to Bears games ourselves and enjoy the freedoms we have," said Rex Rothrock, Hershey Bears fan.

Various organizations receive these tickets distributed by the Hershey Bears, including: Naval Support Activity, Carlisle Barracks, DDSP Susquehanna, Ft. Indiantown Gap, 193rd SOW, Wounded Warrior Patrol and Office of Veteran’s Affairs.

Many other activities occur that night as well:

  • Every fan will receive an American flag upon entry.
  • Hometown Hero T-Shirts will be for sale at the Hershey Sports store in GIANT Center. All proceeds for the t-shirt sale goes to the Veterans’ Trust Fund.
  • Specialty jerseys will be worn by the team during the game and will be auctioned post-game. A portion of the proceeds benefits Wounded Warriors and the Veterans’ Defense Trust Fund.
