ZooAmerica March Special Programs for Kids

This post originally appeared on journeyswithjenn.com

ZooAmerica North American Wildlife Park, is located in Hershey, PA and while it is a smaller zoo it offers great animal encounters and special programs year-round. We love to visit in the off-season, as it’s not as crowded and the animals are a little more active in cooler temps.

Take a look with me at the fun programs that launched for March, specifically for children. These would also be great for home-school activities.

ZooAmerica

ZooAmerica is committed to the conservation of North American wildlife and habitats. The more than 200 animals that call ZooAmerica home are native to five regions of the North American continent – from the dry deserts of the southwestern United States and Mexico to the expansive forests and tundra of Alaska and Canada. Visit ZooAmerica to learn more about these regions and the amazing diversity of North American wildlife and vegetation native to them.

Admission to ZooAmerica is $12.50 for adults, and $10.50 for kids. If you are a 2019 HersheyPark season pass holder, you also get unlimited admission.

Mommy & Me Days: Every Monday in March from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM

This weekly event offers a sweet opportunity for parents to get out of the house and spend quality time with their little ones. On Mommy & Me Days, zoo-goers can participate in animal encounters, an animal enrichment activity and other happenings, all of which are included with standard admission.

Animal Tales: Every Tuesday in March at 9:30 AM and 1:30 PM

This program for children ages 3-5 includes an animal-friendly story, craft activity, short walk around the zoo, snack and special meeting with different animals each week. Both single session and full session registration is available. The regular rate per session is $30 or $95 for all four sessions. There is also a season pass rate of $25 per session or $75 for all four sessions.

You can register for this event on-line.

Teddy Bear and Friends Day: March 24 from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Kids 12 and under are invited to bring their favorite stuffed animal to ZooAmerica on March 24 for Teddy Bear and Friends Day! Youngsters can stop by the Teddy Bear Repair Clinic with their stuffed animal friend for a check-up by a real veterinarian or Zoo naturalist. There will also be a Teddy Bear scavenger hunt and a parade led by Ranger Scratch and his friends! All activities are included in standard admission.

Enjoy a day out at ZooAmerica, before HersheyPark opens for the season!
