ZooAmerica Hosts Discovery Weekends in January 2025
Free Weekend Admission For Kids 8 and Under With Purchase Of Regular Ticket
Families looking for a fun activity to beat the winter blues and cabin fever should consider a weekend visit to ZooAmerica North American Wildlife Park this month for Discovery Weekends.
The 11-acre Zoo in Hershey, Pa., hosts three more Discovery Weekends on Jan. 11-12, 18-19 and 25-26, 2025. As part of the winter programming, each weekend will feature unique themes for guests to learn about the North American animals that call ZooAmerica home.
Here's the remaining schedule:
- Jan. 11-12: Body Coverings - Dressed to Impress - There will be an activity where children can make their own bird. Additional information about body coverings will be hung up around the Zoo — fur, feathers, scales and shells!
- Jan. 18-19: Eating/Hunting - Time to Chow Down - Guests can participate in a scavenger hunt with clues to find the pieces around the Zoo. When all of the pieces are found, they can make their own carnivore. Additional information will be placed around the Zoo about eating and hunting.
- Jan. 25-26: Animal Defense - Don’t Mess With Me - In the Southern Swamps, children can make their own rattlesnake, complete with a working rattle at the end. Additional information can be found around the Zoo to explain how animals defend themselves.
Free Admission for Kids on January Discovery Weekends
A special offer for all of January - kids ages 8 and under receive free admission to ZooAmerica with the purchase of a regular or senior ticket on Saturdays and Sundays. The special offer is only available in-person at the Zoo Admissions Building.
Current ZooAmerica Pass Holders can enjoy unlimited year-round visits to ZooAmerica. 2025 Hersheypark Season Pass Holders also receive free Zoo admission.
Plan a Winter Zoo Visit
Beyond Discovery Weekends, ZooAmerica is open daily this winter from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It's a sweet time of year to visit, as many of the animals in the outdoor habitats are often more active when the temperature drops.
