ZooAmerica Opens After Dark For Creatures Of The Night

Halloween-Themed Zoo Experience is Fun for the Whole Family

Vampire bats, gila monsters and tarantulas, oh my! Creatures Of The Night at ZooAmerica North American Wildlife Park is making its spooky return for three weekends starting this Friday, Oct. 18, through Sunday, Nov. 3, 2019. The Halloween-themed event is the only time of year that ZooAmerica is open after dark - a surefire way to get the family in the Halloween spirit.

Check out the following list of educational programs and activities that will be set up throughout the zoo starting at 6 p.m. each evening of Creatures Of The Night

Flashlight Tour

Guests are encouraged to bring a flashlight for a nighttime tour of the 11-acre zoo under the cover of night. This is the perfect opportunity to observe the habits of some nocturnal North American animals. It's a hoot!

Touch-a-Reptile

Anyone who has ever wondered what a reptile feels like is in luck. A Touch-A-Reptile location will be set up in the zoo from 7 to 9 p.m. for guests to touch a snake, lizard or alligator.

Truth Or Tale?

Truth Or Tale is an engaging program that explores the facts and debunks the myths of the North American animal world in an educational and entertaining way. The program will be held on Fridays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., and Sundays at 7:30 p.m.

Decorate a Luminary

Guests can help light up the night by decorating their own luminaries. Supplies will be provided!

Halloween Treats

There is nothing like a tasty treat at Halloween - and the ZooAmerica animals would agree! Guests can watch black bears, bobcats and desert animals enjoy pumpkin-themed treats on select evenings.

Trick-or-Treat Stop

Did you know that there will be a trick-or-treat trail set up with 13 stops for children 12 and under throughout Hershey’s Chocolate World, Hersheypark and ZooAmerica? The trail concludes with a candy stop inside ZooAmerica on the Ed-ZOO-Cation Team Stage. Costumes are welcomed, but not required to receive a free treat bag.

Creatures Of The Night is included with admission to Hersheypark In The Dark when entered from inside the Park. Separate admission is also available at the zoo’s off-street entrance. If you can’t make it to Creatures Of The Night, there are still plenty of opportunities to visit ZooAmerica this fall. Bonus - the animals are more active this time of year!
