You Can't Miss the 2018 Capital Blue Cross Outdoor Classic

The can’t-miss event of the Hershey Bears 80th Anniversary Season is almost here. The Bears are taking it outdoors for the 2018 Capital BlueCross Outdoor Classic, set for Jan. 19-20 at Hersheypark Stadium.

The Bears will be playing the game of hockey in its purest form, skating on a frozen pond, under the night sky as they battle the elements to host rival Lehigh Valley Phantoms on Saturday, Jan. 20.

The festivities start the night before on Friday, Jan. 19 as part of a jam-packed weekend. Ticket packages for the two-day event start at just $59 and include all of the following:

  • Admission to Pepsi Fan Fest both the 19th and 20th
  • Admission to the 2018 Capital BlueCross Outdoor Classic Bears vs Flyers Alumni Game on the 19th
  • Admission to the 2018 Capital BlueCross Outdoor Classic, Bears vs Phantoms on the 20th
  • A FREE 2018 Hersheypark ticket (Valid through July 31, 2018)

Ticket packages are available at Giant Center box office, by phone at 717-534-3911, or via HersheyBears.com.

PEPSI FAN FEST

Pepsi Fan Fest will feature a live performance from up-and-coming country artist Runaway June, as well as autograph sessions, and interactive games and events. Runaway June just finished touring with Jon Pardi, and their debut single “Lipstick,” was the first single by a female trio to go top 25 in over a decade.

ALUMNI GAME

The Alumni Game will feature some of Hershey’s all-time greats facing off against the Philadelphia Flyers Alumni. The Bears roster will feature fan-favorites including Graham Mink, Dean Arsene, Mike McHugh, Freddy Cassivi, and honorary guest player, Hockey Hall of Famer Ray Bourque. The Flyers roster features the famed ‘Legion of Doom’ line led by Hockey Hall of Fame member Eric Lindros.

OUTDOOR CLASSIC

The marquee matchup Saturday night is just the second time the Bears have played an outdoor game in Chocolate Town. On January 20, 2013, Hershey celebrated their 75th anniversary season by hosting the 2013 Capital BlueCross AHL Outdoor Classic at Hersheypark Stadium. In front of 17,311 fans, Hershey fell to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, 2-1, in overtime.

The two-day event is sure to provide fans with an experience they won’t soon forget.
