Top Reasons to Run the Hershey Half Marathon

TOP REASONS TO RUN THE HERSHEY HALF MARATHON

Every October, Chocolate Town, U.S.A. welcomes thousands of runners for the Hershey Half Marathon. The ninth annual race runs through town on Sunday, October 21, 2018. There’s still time to register for this ‘sweet’ race and we’ve outlined the top reasons you should join us:

  • The Hershey Half Marathon benefits Children’s Miracle Network Hershey! A portion of the race proceeds helps support this tremendous organization. Plus, Miracle Families line ‘Miracle Mile’ around mile 12 to support runners when they need it most - towards the end of the race!

  • There’s chocolate! At mile 11, volunteers offer runners a sweet treat...Hershey’s chocolate! #WillRunForChocolate takes on a new meaning on Chocolate Avenue.

  • The best cheerleaders in the world line the streets including students and staff members from Milton Hershey School, the home and school Mr. and Mrs. Hershey founded in 1909. The second half of the course takes you through this beautiful campus. The School supplies music, encouragement and smiling faces.

  • Throughout the race, you’ll receive high fives and hugs from Hershey’s Characters. Where else does that happen?

  • Each runner receives two tickets to enjoy Hersheypark In The Dark, the seasonal offering perfect for families.

  • Run past historic landmarks including High Point Mansion, the home of Milton & Catherine Hershey, and the famous Hershey's Kiss Streetlights that adorn the streets of Hershey, PA.

  • The Hershey Half Marathon is certified by US Track & Field!

  • Grab a buddy or run alone. Runners have the opportunity to run as part of a relay team or as a solo runner.

  • Kids can join in the fun! The Kids' Fun Run is held Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Hersheypark Stadium. All children ages 2-13 who are affiliated with a runner of the Hershey Half Marathon are welcome to participate.

  • Earn a medal that looks like a KIT KAT Wafer Bar....yum!
