One Sweet Minute: Things to do in January 2020 in Hershey, PA

New Year, New Entertainment

Hershey is ringing in the new year with some fantastic entertainment offerings:

• Comedian Jeff Dunham will take the stage with his crew at Giant Center on Jan. 9 at 7 p.m.
• Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood Live! is hopping aboard the trolley to Hershey Theatre on Jan. 18 at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
• Beyond the Footlights Cabaret and Silent Auction will take place at Hershey Theatre on Jan. 25 at 6:30 p.m.

Adventure Awaits at ZooAmerica

• The beginning of the year is a great time to visit ZooAmerica as many of the North American animals are more active in winter.
• Kids, ages 8 and under, will get into the Zoo for FREE on Saturdays and Sundays this month for Discovery Weekends. Young guests can experience up-close “animal encounters” and discover more about their favorite animals with special activities from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Featured animals include:
  • ​Jan. 4 & 5: Weasels
  • Jan. 11 & 12: Cats
  • Jan. 18 & 19: Birds
  • Jan. 25 & 26: Wolves
• On Saturday, Jan. 25, ZooAmerica is also hosting Sensory Friendly Morning. Guests can experience the wild of North America with modified exhibits, including subdued lights and sounds, calming rooms and special animal encounters.
• Admission is free for Hersheypark Season Pass holders as well!

Sweet Hershey Dining

• Jan. 16, 5:30-7 p.m.: Meet Coco the Bear at Houlihan's Restaurant + Bar! Mingle, take photos and do the "B-E-A-R-S" chant with the official mascot of The Hershey Bears. It's also "Plate Date" night. Every Thursday at Houlihan's, kids eat for $1.99 with the purchase of an adult entrée.
• Jan. 31, 6:30 p.m.: A kick-off to 16 years of Chocolate-Covered February, The Hotel Hershey will host its annual Chocolate Dinner Extraordinaire! Reservations are required and can be made online or by calling 717-534-8800.

• Show your support for Hershey's hometown hockey team at one of six home games this month!
  • Jan. 4: vs. Bridgeport Sound Tigers (BOGO Dietz & Watson Hot Dogs Night)
  • Jan. 5: vs. Bridgeport Sound Tigers (STAR WARS Night)
  • Jan. 8: vs. Hartford Wolf Pack (Hersheypark Pass Night)
  • Jan. 11: vs. Cleveland Monsters (Pepsi Keychain Night)
  • Jan. 18: vs. Hartford Wolf Pack

WINTER RELAXATION

• The Spa At The Hotel Hershey resort spa also features special treatments to relax through the season.
