The Hotel Hershey Awarded 2018 “Best Historic Resort” by Historic Hotels of America, Historic Hotels Worldwide

The Hotel Hershey has been named “Best Historic Resort” by Historic Hotels of America and Historic Hotels Worldwide. The Hotel was selected from six nominated properties for the award, which is presented annually to an historic resort that best celebrates its history in the guest experience and provides exceptional customer hospitality and service.

The Hotel Hershey was honored on Nov. 1 at a special ceremony and gala at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colo. The award was presented before an audience of more than 200 industry leaders, owners, senior management, and representatives of the finest historic hotels from across America and from around the world. Honors were awarded in multiple categories ranging from Hotelier of the Year and Hotel Historian of the Year to Best Historic Resort, Historic Hotelier of the Year, Lifetime Achievement and more. Award recipients were selected from nominations received from historic hotels, historic preservation supporters, prior award recipients and leadership from Historic Hotels of America and Historic Hotels Worldwide.

The Hotel was built in 1933 and features 276 rooms and more than 25,000 square feet of meeting and function space. The Hotel was a part of Milton Hershey’s vision for a model town with a plethora of job opportunities, comfortable homes for purchase or rent, a good public school system, and recreational and cultural opportunities. The Hotel honors Mr. Hershey’s legacy by creating a unique experience for all guests in Hershey The Sweetest Place On Earth, where guests are able to partake in endless activities throughout their stay, including an innovative 18-hole Putting Course, Segway tours, falconry, more than 5.5 miles of hiking trails, a Cocoa Kids’ Club, and so much more.
