The Falconry Experience Celebrates 10,000th Guest

The Falconry Experience hit a special milestone this fall.

After 11 years, the program has welcomed its 10,000th guest!

Since opening in mid-summer of 2008, Falconry has been offering guests of all ages the unique opportunity to participate in interactive demonstrations featuring hawks, falcons and a golden eagle. Guests enjoy free-flight demonstrations, a simulated hunt demonstration and even the opportunity to have one of the program’s majestic birds of prey land on their hand.

You can see Falconry’s 10,000th guest, Pat McKenna, of Highland Park, N.J., enjoying the experience with his wife, son, father and Seeing Eye dog -- a yellow Lab named Finn -- in the photos below.

The Falconry Experience is available (weather permitting) at 11 a.m. on weekends through the fall and winter seasons as well as Dec. 26-31. Meet-and-Greets with Bliss the golden eagle will continue at 9 a.m. every weekend through Dec. 31 -- Saturdays at Hershey Lodge and Sundays at The Hotel Hershey. In addition to the regularly scheduled weekend programs, Hawk Walks can also be scheduled by appointment for groups of two to four on weekdays and weekends from Nov. 1 to April 15.

Spread the word: it’s a great time of year to fly hawks!
