Tara Carter Named Legacy of Excellence Award Recipient

Every year, team members of Hershey Entertainment & Resorts (HE&R) are invited to nominate a colleague for the Legacy of Excellence Award, the highest level of peer-to-peer recognition given within our organization. The honor recognizes a deserving team member whose actions exhibit Selfless Spirit of Service, Team Focused, Devoted to the Legacy, and Respectful of Others, our company's four Core Values. On Sept. 16, 2020, Tara A. Carter was named the 20th recipient of the Legacy of Excellence Award!  John Lawn, CEO & President, and Vikki Hultquist, General Manager, Attractions & Entertainment, surprised Tara with the award and to thank her for the tremendous level of service that she gives to HE&R on a daily basis. 

HE&R team members took the time to recognize 24 nominees. Tara, a member of the Hersheypark Entertainment Complex team, received two nominations from her colleagues, Kaitlin Landis and Chris Large. Within their nomination forms, Kaitlin and Chris highlighted the behaviors that demonstrate Tara’s commitment to service excellence, our company’s Core Purpose, and her team members:

• Tara tirelessly works to ensure every single employee is valued, respected, and treated with dignity. She is an inspiration to her team members. 
• Tara often says, "We are all one team." It is easy for those in leadership to say the right trigger words, but Tara's actions reinforce them.
• Tara does whatever it takes to ensure everyone else's needs are taken care of.
• Countless times she sacrifices her own time to help the Park maintenance workers with their questions. She makes us all feel like she always has time for everyone. 
• Tara cares about everyone as human beings. She creates warm, nurturing, family-like environments wherever she goes, earning the nickname, Mama Bear.
