Pumpkin Glow Lights Up Hershey Gardens

October 19, 20, 26 and 27, 2018

What’s Halloween without a few hundred jack-o-lanterns, creative pumpkin carving and creepy crawlers? This year’s Pumpkin Glow at Hershey Gardens is all that—and more! The popular non-scary, family-friendly Halloween event is being held October 19, 20, 26 and 27, 2018, from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Kids are encouraged to come dressed in their favorite costume, bring a flashlight and collect sweet treats at eight candy stations along the path. As families wind their way through the Gardens, they’ll see more than 200 beautifully carved jack-o-lanterns grouped by themes, such as Haunted Happenings, Toons & Tales, Hero Headquarters, Halloween Zoo, Monster Mash and more. Whimsical scarecrows and fall displays will add to the Halloween atmosphere.

New this year will be appearances by “live” cartoon characters and princesses. And on Friday, October 26, celebrity pumpkin carver Danny Kissel will be making an appearance, featuring his intricately carved pumpkins and demonstrating his carving techniques. Kissel, a self-taught carver, was featured on two episodes of Food Network’s “Halloween Wars.” Speaking of food, how about some kettle corn? Food trucks will be at Pumpkin Glow, selling sweet treats and confections.

In the Mad Scientists Lab, located in the Educational & Horticultural Wing of the Milton & Catherine Hershey Conservatory, families will discover a unique collection of live insects, including a tarantula, a whip scorpion, millipedes and hissing cockroaches. Area pastry and culinary arts students will be giving pumpkin carving demonstrations, too!

The Butterfly Atrium will be closed during Pumpkin Glow.

Tickets for Pumpkin Glow can be purchased in advance at HersheyGardens.org or in person at Hershey Gardens during normal hours of operation or on the night of Pumpkin Glow. Members are free; Discovery passes not accepted.

General admission is $12.50 for visitors ages 13-61, $11.50 for seniors (ages 62 and up), and $9.00 for juniors (ages 3-12); children ages 2 and under are free. For more information about Hershey Gardens, visit HersheyGardens.org or call 717-534-3492.

Candy distributed at Pumpkin Glow is generously donated by The Hershey Company.

Happy Halloween!
