Orchid Show & Sale Returns to Hershey Gardens Feb. 4-6, 2022

“For the Love of Orchids” returns to Hershey Gardens on Friday, Feb. 4, through Sunday, Feb. 6, 2022, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The three-day orchid show and sale, provided by the Susquehanna Orchid Society (SOS), will be held in the Milton & Catherine Hershey Conservatory at Hershey Gardens and is included in admission. Masks are required while visiting the orchid show.

“For the Love of Orchids” showcases nearly a thousand orchids and dozens of varieties. Guests can also participate in tours and attend informational sessions given by experts. Below is a schedule of activities; additional details can be found at HersheyGardens.org

Friday, Feb. 4

The orchid show and sale features rare species and unique hybrids, including Cattleyas, Dendrobiums, Vandas, Oncidiums and Phragmipediums, to name a few. Sharry Baby, a variety that smells like chocolate, will also be featured. SOS members will be present to assist interested buyers with selecting orchid varieties that best work with the homeowner’s growing environment.

In addition, showy displays will be judged on-site and presented with awards; several orchids displayed at previous SOS shows have received national recognition by the American Orchid Society.  Orchid societies from Pennsylvania and Maryland are participating in this year’s show and sale; vendors include Kelly’s Korner Orchid Supplies, Etters, Pa.; Little Brook Orchids, Lancaster, Pa.; Orchid Enterprise Inc., Alexandria, Va.; and Wade’s Orchids, Middleburg, Pa.
