One Sweet Minute: September 2022 in Hershey, PA

Welcome, September! The summer season is coming to a close and fall activities in Hershey, PA are shifting into full gear! Keep reading to learn more about our top picks on things to do this month. 

Seize the Summer at Hersheypark  on Select Days Through Sept. 11

There’s still time to seize the summer Hersheypark Happy style with coaster rides, sweet treats and Hershey Character selfies! Hersheypark is open daily through Sept. 5 and then the weekend of Sept. 10-11 (hours vary) for visitors to enjoy the last few days of the summer season before Halloween descends upon Hershey (more below!) Check out this great offer on a summer family four pack with four tickets, parking and four meal tickets valid through Sept. 11.

Hersheypark Halloween  and Dark Nights  Begin Sept. 17

The fun doesn’t stop at Hersheypark between seasons. In fact, the Park will transform for its family-friendly Hersheypark Halloween event and new Dark Nights immersive haunt experience starting Sept. 17 for seven weekends through Oct. 30.

Hersheypark Halloween features thrills on 50 rides and attractions (weather permitting), lights-out coaster rides, Treatville trick-or-treat trail for children 12 and under, Character Glow Dance Parties, limited-time sweet treats and savory eats, and more. Those who like to be scared are in for a real treat with Dark Nights beginning every evening at  6 p.m. as an expansion of Hersheypark Halloween. Dark Nights unearths three scare zones and four spine-tingling haunted houses as part of integrated thrill experiences guests can only find in Hersheypark

Hersheypark launched a package of Halloween pre-sales for guests to buy now on Hersheypark.com and save through Sept. 15. 

  • Families can take advantage of the Halloween Family 4 Pack with four Hersheypark Halloween general admissions tickets, four meal tickets and one parking pass for $52.95 per person plus taxes and fees. 
  • For those who dare to experience the new haunted houses, an Anytime Terror Bundle containing one Hersheypark Halloween general admission ticket and one Dark Nights haunted house event ticket is also available for $59.95 per person plus taxes and fees.

Celebrate National Wildlife Day at ZooAmerica

National Wildlife Day is Sept. 4, but ZooAmerica celebrates all year long and guests can, too, by planning a visit this month! The 11-acre North American Wildlife Park is home to more than 200 animals representing species from five regions of the North American continent. 

ZooAmerica is open daily this month, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sept. 1-5 and 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 6-30. Regular admission for guests ages 9-61 is $13. Juniors and seniors are $11 and children 2 and younger are free. ZooAmerica is one of three parks in one included with admission to Hersheypark only when entering the Zoo through the bridge inside Hersheypark during posted Park hours.

Enjoy a Sweet September Getaway at the Official Resorts

Whether you’re looking to seize the last bit of summer or enjoy some Halloween fun, the Official Resorts of Hersheypark make for the perfect accommodations for a September getaway. Guests staying Labor Day weekend can enjoy the last splashes of summer at the resorts’ outdoor pools and The Boardwalk At Hersheypark while enjoying the guest-favorite Kids Stay, Play & Eat FREE Package, available at Hershey Lodge through Sept. 5. 

Other packages perfect for an end-of-summer getaway include the 2-Day Stay & Play Package at The Hotel Hershey and Hershey Lodge, and the Hersheypark Summer Camping Package at Hersheypark Camping Resort, available select dates through Sept. 11.

Packages include daily admission to Hersheypark Halloween and more sweet fun. Plus, guests can purchase add-on tickets for the new Dark Nights immersive haunt experience. 

Cheers to the return of Happy Hour and Character Dining at The Chocolatier

Happy Hour is back again starting Sept. 6 at The Chocolatier Restaurant, Bar + Patio for guests seated at the Carrousel Bar or outdoor patio. Happy Hour is offered every Monday through Thursday from 4-6 p.m. with discounts on select appetizers, $8 featured cocktails and 1/2 off draft beers and house wines. 

The Chocolatier also welcomes the return of Hershey Character dining from 5-7 p.m. on Thursdays in September. Young guests can enjoy a FREE kid's dessert with the purchase of a kid's entree when visiting during this dining experience. Reservations are highly encouraged with availability listed here.

Hershey Bears Tickets Are Now Available

The Hershey Bears are gearing up for the club’s 85th anniversary season which is set to open on Saturday, Oct. 15.

Single game tickets to all home games at GIANT Center will go on sale to the public on Thursday, Sept. 1 at 10 a.m. Fans are encouraged to buy online and save—All season long, guests may enjoy the lowest ticket prices and save big when they purchase tickets online for Hershey Bears home games. 

Highlights of the season include the club's world famous GIANT Teddy Bear Toss on Sunday, Jan. 29 as the Bears host the Bridgeport Islanders at 3 p.m. When Hershey scores its first goal of the game, fans litter the ice with thousands of teddy bears and stuffed animals that are donated to local charities as part of the club's Hershey Bears Cares program. 

The Bears will once again host three Hersheypark Pass Nights this upcoming season, with each of these games occurring on a Sunday. All fans who attend Hershey's Nov. 13, Jan. 8, or Feb. 26 game will get a one-day admission to Hersheypark valid through Jun. 30, 2023.
