Hershey Entertainment & Resorts Appoints New Head of Security

Jason White Named Managing Director, Safety and Security, Corporate & Entertainment Complex

July 14, 2017 - Hershey, PA - Hershey Entertainment & Resorts Company (HE&R) has announced the appointment of Jason White as the company’s new Managing Director, Safety and Security, Corporate & Entertainment Complex. In this role, White will oversee the safety and security plans, programs and policies for the company’s Entertainment division which includes Hersheypark, Hersheypark Stadium, Hersheypark Arena and Giant Center, in addition to all company-wide safety and security processes and procedures.

“Jason has continually proven his leadership in this key area of focus for HE&R,” said Kevin Stumpf, General Manager, Hersheypark Entertainment Complex. “The safety and security of our guests and employees is paramount to our brand, and Jason has the experience and dedication to ensure our continued emphasis in this critical area.”

Since joining the company in 2005, White has been responsible for enhancing security operations across the Complex, ensuring the safety of millions of guests to Hersheypark annually, and overseeing the recruitment, development and training of its security workforce. His role has included security management for a wide array of events such as concerts and shows, large-scale industry events and sporting competitions, as well as the Hershey Half Marathon and Hershey 10K road races.

White has also coordinated with external service providers to facilitate and execute comprehensive safety and security programs for the Complex. Additionally, he has been instrumental in fostering key relationships with community partners throughout Derry Township, Dauphin County, and numerous state and federal law enforcement agencies.

Before joining HE&R, White worked for The Wackenhut Corporation and Capital Security Agency and served in the United States Army for four years. A graduate of Harrisburg Area Community College, White is a member of American Society for Industrial Security, International Association of Emergency Managers, International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions, and American Society for Amusement Park Safety and Security organizations. He earned the Certified Protection Professional designation in 2007. This appointment comes on the heels of the recent retirement announcement of Tim Shellenberger, who served as the company’s Managing Director, Corporate Safety and Security since 2004.
