It’s Beginning to Taste a Lot Like Christmas

It’s the Christmas season. Everywhere you go you hear the sounds of the season, see the sights and smell the treats. Those smells remind me that food and beverages are always a BIG part of the holiday celebrations.

Another big part of the holiday season for me is a visit to Hersheypark Christmas Candylane. So I decided to combine two of my favorite things and host my own “Food and Beverage Trail” at Christmas Candylane.

What fun it is to…indulge in all the great Christmas menu items! Wow, the elves on the Food & Beverage Team at Hersheypark Christmas Candylane have really been busy! And, those elves sure are talented and creative.

Here are just a few of the delights I found that are waiting for you:

King-Size Shake. One word: WOW! This shake is so beautiful I ALMOST didn’t want to drink it. But, the straw was in place and it did look like it might melt. This shake is loaded with ice cream and topped with whipped cream. But, that’s just the tip of the “iceberg.” Rising out of that scrumptious shake were two pretzel sticks decorated with green icing trees, a marshmallow snowman and two fudge coated brownies. Now that’s what I called “super-sized.”

After that shake, MOST people would want to eat something hot and steamy. Not me. I headed right for the Premium Frozen Yogurt stand to sample the new Chocolate Peppermint and Gingerbread flavors. Of course, I added the seasonal sprinkles. I am one of those people that thinks more is always better in the case of frozen confectionery delights.

OK, now time for something warm and steamy. You are thinking soup? Well, if you are, you don’t know me very well! I walked a few steps and found myself at Founder’s Way Funnel Cake. A new addition to the menu, Snickerdoodle Funnel Cake, caught my eye and I knew I had found my “warm and steamy.”

The word Snickerdoodle usually means cookie to me. So, I decided to walk a bit and look for something in the cookie department. And, surprise! I found the Cookie Workshop at the Overlook Food Court. I knew I could eat while I worked on decorating the cookies, but made the difficult decision to just decorate the cookies and then take them home to my family. Are you thinking “lucky family?”

It was getting close to closing time and I realized I had not eaten dinner. Now, how could I remedy that? It was easy; several crocks of soup were cooking near the Cookie Decorating Workshop. Choices: Chicken Noodle, Broccoli Cheddar and Chili. All these savory soups are served in a bread bow. A “two-fer,” gotta love that!

My “Trail” complete, I headed for the exit, passing right by the Kettle Corn stand; a girl’s gotta have some control, right?

I’ve shared my choices with you, but what is your favorite Christmas Candylane indulgence? I’d love to know!
