IS HERSHEYPARK IN THE DARK WORTH THE COST?

This post originally appeared on lolalambchops.com

If you know my family, you know how much we love Halloween. And we love Hersheypark. So when they offer a Halloween party at Hersheypark, that’s the perfect combination. Is Hersheypark in the Dark worth the cost? Here are some reasons why my family loves Halloween at Hershey!

HERSHEYPARK IN THE DARK HOURS IN 2019

Hersheypark in the Dark is Hershey’s Halloween Party. You don’t have to dress up in costume, but it’s a lot more fun that way. We went simple and most of my daughters wore onesie pajamas that kept them warm and were different characters or animals.

Hersheypark is open from 5 p.m.-10 p.m. Fridays, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturdays and from noon-9 p.m on Sundays. The 2019 Hersheypark in the Dark dates are October 18-20, 25-27, & November 1-3.

ADMISSION FOR HERSHEYPARK IN THE DARK

Regular one-day admission for Hersheypark In The Dark is $41.95, ages 9-54. Seniors (ages 55+) and Kids ages 3-8 can get in for $31.95, and children 2 and under are free. Season Passholders can get in with their season passes! Another great perk to be a Hersheypark Season Passholder.

If you come on Saturday or Sunday, you can preview the park the night before after 7:30 p.m. with your ticket and then come back the next day, too! It makes for a fantastic weekend getaway. Purchase tickets for Hersheypark in the Dark on Hersheypark’s website!

SPECIAL RIDES DURING HALLOWEEN

We went opening night and we were able to ride so many roller coasters! Over 50 attractions are open! Lines weren’t bad, so the kids were able to ride everything they wanted. Something exclusive to Hersheypark in the Dark is riding Laff Trakk with the lights off from open to close and dark rides on three roller coasters, Wildcat, Comet, and Lightning Racer during the last hour of every night.

One of my daughters wore a glow in the dark costume, just so she would glow on Laff Trakk. Laff Trakk usually has a long line, so I would save that one for the beginning or end of the night.

TRICK-OR-TREATING AT HERSHEYPARK IN THE DARK

Hersheypark in the Dark has a path in the back of the park called Treatville. If kids (12 and under) dress in costume, they can pick up treats along the path! In our experience, we received a hand stamp at the beginning of the trail to show we had been through.
