Hershey's Chocolatetown Construction Update

Since we broke ground in early January, construction on Hershey's Chocolatetown has been in full swing!

Our construction teams have been hard at work despite the challenges of winter weather.

Major activities for the past two months have included:

  • Clearing and leveling the site to raise the elevation of the Chocolatetown development as much as 12 feet in some areas 
  • Adding 65,000 cubic yards of fill to level that ground, weighing approximately 60-80,000 tons
  • Trenching and installing more than 3 miles of underground piping for utilities
  • Preparing the temporary entrance for guests to enter throughout the 2019 season
  • Installing the first 12 of  our 140+ coaster piers - stay tuned for more coaster details this summer!
