Hersheypark Unveils Design First With Wildcat's Revenge Custom Train
Only Hybrid Coaster in Pennsylvania to Open Summer 2023
Wildcat is back and seeking vengeance.
Today at IAAPA Expo 2022, Hersheypark amusement park unveiled a design first with the custom train for its all-new Wildcat’s Revenge hybrid coaster opening in summer 2023.
The wood and steel coaster manufactured by Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC) will feature three custom trains, showcasing fully-dimensional black, charcoal and silver wild cats exacting revenge on their wooden predecessor. The thematic elements are a design first for Hersheypark.

A Nod to Hersheypark Coaster History
The Wild Cat was purchased by founder Milton S. Hershey as the very first coaster at Hersheypark in 1923. Exactly 100 years later, Wildcat's Revenge will reclaim the name and add an all-new steel track with unique elements to the wooden framework for a one-of-a-kind thrilling ride experience found only at Hersheypark.
The hybrid coaster design was carefully chosen to offer something new while honoring the past. As guests enter the Midway America region of Hersheypark, they will be welcomed by a fully renovated coaster station with a design featuring low-pitched gables that harkens back to the iconic 1923 Wild Cat station.
The Best of Wood and Steel
Wildcat’s Revenge will be the first hybrid coaster at Hersheypark and the first RMC in Pennsylvania.
The 2-minute and 36-second experience begins as riders climb a 140-foot hill, plunge into an 82-degree drop and hit a maximum speed of 62 miles per hour along 3,510 feet of red track on a black steel and wood structure.
The pursuit continues as riders experience the very best of both the wood and steel coaster experience through four inversions, including the World’s Largest Underflip. This one-of-a-kind RMC inversion begins with an upward climb, followed by a counterclockwise 270° roll and a dive down towards the side.
Iconic Coaster Collection
One of 15 coasters at Hersheypark, Wildcat's Revenge will join one of the largest and most iconic coaster collections in the United States in summer 2023.
The more than 115-year-old amusement park has added significant experiences in the past decade - from the transformational expansion of Hershey's Chocolatetown region to six coasters since 2012. Guests can enjoy three parks in one at Hersheypark with more than 70 rides, a water park and a zoo included with summer admission.
Recent Construction Update
Construction is already underway on the wood and steel hybrid coaster. On November 9, Wildcat's Revenge went vertical as the first piece of red steel track was lifted into place atop the wooden structure.
