Hersheypark Roller Coaster Cars Craned Back on Tracks

Behind-the-Scenes of Springtime Ride Preparation for 2019 Operating Season

With less than three weeks to go until Hersheypark opens for Springtime In The Park, the maintenance team has entered the final leg of an extremely busy off-season that consisted of inspecting, repainting, repairing and reassembling dozens of rides and attactions, including our world-class roller coasters. On today's checklist? The careful craning of the Lightning Racer coaster cars back onto their dueling tracks using massive cranes.

2019 Roller Coaster Craning Footage

Roller coaster craning is a sign that Springtime In The Park at Hersheypark is right around the corner. The three-weekend event returns on April 6-7, 13-14 and 19-21. Event hours for Springtime In The Park are 10 am to 9 pm on Friday, April 19, and all three Saturdays. The Park is also open for three Sundays, including Easter, from 10 am to 6 pm. Admission is $38.95 for ages 9 to 54 and $27.95 for ages 3 to 8 and ages 55 and older. Children 2 and younger are free.
