We’re counting down the days until Hersheypark opens on April 2, 2022, for coaster rides and family fun! As we start another year of Hersheypark Happy and sweet memories, we’re excited to celebrate some significant ride anniversaries. From Skyrush and sooperdooperLooper to the Ferris Wheel and Wave Swinger, take a look at the rides marking major milestones in 2022:
Hershey Triple Tower - 5 Years
Drop in on thrills and fun from a variety of height on Hershey Triple Tower, the first choose-your-thrill triple tower in the United States. Each tower is named after an iconic candy brand and differs by height.
Hershey Triple Tower opened April 8, 2017.
Skyrush - 10 Years
Ride the edge and feel the rush! Skyrush roller coaster climbs 200 feet into the air before flying downhill at 75 mph. Experience 4 high speed turns, 5 zero-G airtime hills - all from a thrilling, winged-seat coaster train!
Skyrush opened May 26, 2012.
The Boardwalk - 15 Years
Make a splash at the 11-acre water park inside Hersheypark! When The Boardwalk opened 15 years ago, it originally featured only a handful of water‐based attractions including East Coast Waterworks, Coastline Plunge, Sandcastle Cove, Bayside Pier and Waverider.
The Boardwalk opened on May 26, 2007.
Ferris Wheel - 25 Years
Enjoy sweet views of Hersheypark 100 feet in the air while riding our iconic Ferris Wheel! Guests of every height category can enjoy this ride. While you're riding the Ferris Wheel, be sure to snap photos of all your favorite rides from overhead! The Ferris Wheel recently received a major light package upgrade and the center pinwheel shines beautifully at night, changing colors depending on the season.
The Ferris Wheel opened in 1997.
Balloon Flite and Wave Swinger - 40 Years
Two popular kiddie and family rides are celebrating 40 years in 2022. Take flight on the Balloon Flite ride, the hot air balloon adventure, located in the Founder's Way region! This cycling kiddie ride flies at a moderate speed, providing the perfect amount of thrill and ease for a smaller child and their fellow adventurers. Feel the wind beneath your feet on Wave Swinger! Glide through the air above the treetops and take in sweet views of The Hollow area from above.
Balloon Flite and Wave Swinger opened in 1982.
sooperdooperLooper - 45 Years
Experience the first-ever looping coaster on the East Coast! The famous vertical loop on sooperdooperLooper coaster is just part of the fun. Riders also enjoy a family-friendly course of small dips, drops, and bunny hills on this classic steel coaster. After your ride, don't forget to pick up an "I survived the sooperdooperLooper" shirt - it's the most popular shirt ever sold at Hersheypark! The coaster has gone through multiple color changes over the years and most recently added white to it’s one loop.
