Hersheypark Offers Delicious Gluten-Free Food Options
One thing I have always heard from the Food & Beverage team at Hersheypark is that when people are on vacation, taking a vacation from a diet is typical, too.
Things have changed in the food and beverage industry because today many people have severe food allergies and are not able to forget about that “diet” and need to stick to a specific diet or avoid certain foods completely.
One of the more common food allergies is an allergy to gluten. The Mayo Clinic states that “a gluten-free diet is a diet that excludes the protein gluten. Gluten is found in grains such as wheat, barley, rye, and a cross between wheat and rye called triticale.”
Eating gluten-free is a necessity for people suffering from celiac disease and, in addition, can make a positive impact for people on the Autism Spectrum.
If eating gluten-free is a priority for you or a member of your family of group, Hersheypark offers numerous tasty options. The Outpost, allergen-friendly, fresh flavorful food, is new to the F&B offerings at the Park this summer. This food stand offers culinary nut, gluten and dairy free delights, as well as vegetarian choices. The concept behind the new location is to allow groups to dine and enjoy their meal together, regardless of any food allergies.
In addition to the menu items available at The Outpost, Hersheypark offers gluten-free Hamburger buns and sandwich rolls, chicken tenders, French fires and pizza plus an array of pre-packaged snacks at several locations throughout the Park. A complete overview of dietary options and information can be found at: http://www.hersheypark.com/things-to-do/dining/allergens.php.
Regardless of why a guest is eating gluten-free, the Food & Beverage team at Hersheypark makes it easy to enjoy great food in a really fun location.
