Hersheypark Cranes Roller Coasters Onto Track For Spring 2026 Opening

Largest Amusement Park in Pennsylvania Kicks Off 120th Operating Year April 3

Written by: Thomas Perucki

The official arrival of spring is a sure sign that roller coaster riding season at Hersheypark amusement park is almost here! This week, the Hersheypark maintenance team is using a massive crane to lift the roller coaster trains, including Skyrush and sooperdooperLooper, back onto the tracks after their winter overhaul.

Take a look at the exciting maintenance milestone in preparation for Spring Weekends.

Here are some photos of the Skyrush cars returning to their yellow track. The iconic coaster takes a First Class flight 200 feet into the air before flying downhill at 75 mph. Riders experience four high speed turns, five zero-G airtime hills and upgraded seats and restraints - all from a winged-seat coaster train.

The team also captured some photos of the distinctly orange sooperdooperLooper train cars being lifted and placed back onto the steel track using a crane ahead of the Park's 120th operating year. The first-ever modern looping coaster on the East Coast is known for its famous vertical loop, small dips, drops and bunny hills.
