Hershey Lodge Celebrates 50 Sweet Years
On May 1, 1967 Hershey Motor Lodge (today called Hershey Lodge) opened. Twenty one years after the death of its founder Milton S. Hershey, Hershey Entertainment & Resorts recognized the need for additional hotel rooms in town. Quickly outgrowing itself, Hershey Lodge expanded and by fall 1998 it was the largest convention resort in the state.

The Lodge not only hosts meetings and conventions year-round, but welcomes families as one of the Official Resorts of Hersheypark. With VIP benefits including free shuttle service to and from the Park, one hour early access to select rides and attractions, complimentary tickets to Hershey Gardens and The Hershey Story Museum, it’s no wonder guests return to Hershey Lodge year after year.
Hershey Lodge continues to upgrade it experiences. In May 2016, the Lodge opened Hershey’s Water Works, an innovative indoor pool complex. Features include two pools, Twizzlers Twists Slides, Reese’s Water Walk, water play structures and an outdoor splash pad; Hershey’s Water Works is unlike any other indoor pool! The complex also includes an activity room, arcade and state-of-the-art fitness center.
Aside from its golden anniversary this month, the Lodge will open a new restaurant – Fire & Grain – on May 11, 2017. This contemporary American restaurant is replacing Lebbie Lebkicher’s and will feature remastered comfort food, serving breakfast, dinner and drinks.
