Hershey Gardens Announces April and May 2022 Events

Easter Sunrise Service, Earth Day Celebration, Go Public Gardens Days

Spring’s arrival at Hershey Gardens brings with it a calendar full of outdoor events. Below is a detailed listing of April and May happenings at Hershey Gardens:   

Sunday, April 17, 2022
6:30 a.m.   
Easter Sunrise Service
The public is invited to a free non-denominational service in the Seasonal Display Garden at Hershey Gardens; coffee and hot chocolate provided by Hershey Lodge. No admission fee prior to 8 a.m.; service provided by the Hershey Ministerium.

April 23-24, 2022
10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Earth Day Celebration
Hershey Gardens will celebrate Earth Day by holding various demonstrations and informational sessions on recycling, composting and gardening. Families can make a seed bomb, learn about hydroponics, play games and visit the Bug Cart. An ice cream truck will be onsite from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sponsored by Hershey Rotary Club; included in admission.

Go Public Gardens Days Activities
Friday, May 6, 2022
9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Half Off with Voucher Hershey Gardens Admission
Kicking off Go Public Gardens Days (May 6-15, 2022) is half-price admission on Friday, May 6, with presentation of voucher, available at HersheyGardens.org under the May 6 calendar listing.  
May 9-13, 2022
Book clubs are invited to bring a picnic lunch to Hershey Gardens and discuss their monthly book selection; registration required. To register and receive a special group rate, book club representatives may contact Vera Kolstrom at 717-508-5970 or via email at velkolstrom@hersheygardens.org.

Rhododendron and azalea display in the Education Center; provided by the Mason-Dixon Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society. Included in admission.

Annual Iris Show
The Susquehanna Iris Society’s annual show returns to the Garden Cottage at Hershey Gardens. Irises will be on exhibit for judging and awards; tall, intermediate and miniature-tall bearded varieties will be featured. Representatives will be available to provide additional information and answer questionsIncluded in admission.
