Hershey Country Club Celebrates National Golf Lovers Day

This week was a special one for Hershey Country Club (HCC) as we celebrated National Golf Lovers Day! Members and staff raised their clubs high and toasted to the sport that we all hold dearly. Join HCC as we reminisce on this summer’s golf season and commemorate our staff for making our club an exceptional destination for Members and guests.

HCC takes pride in our leagues, clinics, and camps that foster inclusiveness and support for everyone who plays the sport. The Women’s Golf League (WGL) and Junior Golf Camp are only a few of the opportunities the Golf Team provides for Members. The WGL had a record number of participants this year with 125 women improving their skills and creating a close community amongst their fellow players. The WGL is divided into 4-hole, 9-hole, and 18-hole groups that cater to every player's skills and experience. Several clinics were hosted for the ladies this summer including Play With The Pros, where they had the opportunity to play with HCC’s Golf Professionals and improve their skills on the course.

HCC’s junior golfers brought the heat this summer during Junior Golf Camp. Our Golf Professionals hosted 3-week long camps in June, July, and August for new and experienced golfers ages 6-12 to gain valuable experience and perfect their technique. Games and activities included golf swing, grip, and stance practice. Each camp ended with the campers playing a hole on the West Course where they could put all their skills together!

In September,  HCC held a highly favored event of the year, The Men's Invitational with over 75 men competing in a three-day golf tournament. In addition to golf, there were plenty of festivities for the players to enjoy, including closest-to-the-pin contests, lunch on the West Course, and an evening of dinner and dancing with players and their spouses. On the final day of competition, winners from each of the thirteen flights compete in a shootout for the  Overall Championship title. Congratulations to Ryan Kogler and Tony Thornton for winning the 2023 title!

Although our golf season is soon coming to an end, there are still several events the Members and staff look forward to. On Thursday, October 5th we have the Farmer’s Locker Party, where Members dress in their best farmer attire, compete in a golf tournament, and win fun raffle prizes. 

Our Golf Team’s commitment to excellence extends beyond the courses, as they consistently demonstrate their teamwork and dedication to serving our Members.
