Hershey Bears to Open 2021-22 Season on October 16

Club set to open 84th season by welcoming back a full-capacity crowd

The countdown to the Hershey Bears 2021-22 season is on! The puck drops in Chocolatetown on the new season on Saturday, October 16 as Hershey hosts its Home Opener at GIANT Center. A full season schedule, including opponent information and game times, will be released in the coming month.

With the start of a new season, the Bears are excited to welcome fans back to GIANT Center at full capacity for the first time since March 1, 2020, a span of 594 long days. Hershey's fan base is widely known as one of the best in hockey, averaging near the top of the league in attendance every season, and the club's Home Opener will truly be a can't miss event.

We are beyond excited to safely welcome back our fans to GIANT Center at full capacity for our Home Opener on October 16. We enjoyed great success on the ice during the shortened 2020-21 season, but with that said, it just wasn't the same without our passionate and loyal fans filling the GIANT Center each and every night. We can't wait to hear the roar of the crowd again as we start the chase for our 12th Calder Cup in October.

Hershey's 2021-22 season will be the club's 84th in the American Hockey League. The Bears are coming off a truncated 2020-21 campaign where despite a shortened season, limited capacity, and no playoffs, the Bears won the North Division, and claimed the Macgregor Kilpatrick Trophy as the AHL's regular season champion.
