Hershey Bears To Compete In 2023 Calder Cup Finals

Eastern Conference Champion Hershey Bears To Face Coachella Valley Firebirds

The Hershey Bears’ 2023 playoffs, presented by Penn State Health, continues when Hershey gets set to face the Coachella Valley Firebirds in the 2023 Calder Cup Finals. The Chocolate and White are making their first appearance in the championship match since 2016, and their league-record 24th overall, as the Bears seek to claim their league-leading 12th Calder Cup, and their fourth since affiliating with the NHL’s Washington Capitals prior to the 2005-06 season.

After defeating the Charlotte Checkers 3-1 and sweeping the Hartford Wolf Pack 3-0 to earn the Atlantic Division title in a best-of-five series, the Bears claimed the Richard F. Canning Trophy as Eastern Conference champions with a six-game win over the Rochester Americans in a classic rivalry matchup.

Now in its 85th AHL season, the oldest team on the circuit gets set to face the newest member to the top developmental hockey league in North America, a first-year club affiliated with the NHL’s newest franchise, the Seattle Kraken. The best-of-seven series between Hershey and Coachella Valley gets underway on Thursday, June 8 at Acrisure Arena, before returning to The Sweetest Place On Earth for Games 3, 4, and 5 (if necessary) at GIANT Center, starting on Tuesday, June 13.
