Hershey Bears Give Back: February 2019

The Hershey Bears are committed to giving back to the community as a part of our Hershey Bears Cares initiative. In the month of February, Bears players made community appearances at Dave & Busters in Harrisburg, Camping World, Penn State Health Children’s Hospital in Hershey, and the Ronald McDonald House.

The Bears made two hospital visits in three days on Feb. 12 and 14. On Feb. 12, Bears players Aaron Ness and Beck Malenstyn made a guest appearance at the campus-wide Children’s Hospital Bingo.

Two days later, players Riley Barber, Brian Pinho, Liam O’Brien, Mason Mitchell, Tyler Lewington and Hampus Gustafsson returned to the Penn State Children’s Hospital. Players participated in arts & crafts activities with kids at the hospital.

On Feb. 19, players Nathan Walker, Jayson Megna and Aaron Ness visited the Ronald McDonald house, along with their respective wives to help prepare dinner of the residents

Media was invited to the Ronald McDonald visit, and all four of Hershey’s local ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX affiliates were in attendance, and aired the visit on the evening news. WHTM-TV (ABC 27) in Harrisburg posted a web story on the event:

Hershey’s originally scheduled 7th annual Running for Rachel fundraiser at Arooga’s was rescheduled from Feb. 20 to March 20 due to inclement weather. We hope to see you there!

Stay tuned for more Hershey Bears Cares iniatives in the coming months!
