HE&R Team Members Celebrate Women's History Month

Throughout March, as part of our company's ongoing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiative, Hershey Entertainment & Resorts (HE&R) has celebrated Women's History Month by exploring the impact women have made on sports, leadership/business, science, government, and education. We have also highlighted some of our female leaders and inquired what Women's History Month means to them.

Andrea, Resorts Group Controller
"Women's History Month highlights women who have made a difference and reminds me that I too can make a difference every single day. I want my daughter and others to have endless opportunities for growth and happiness. Investing in other people to watch them grow and flourish is the best reward of all.”
Andrea, Resorts Group Controller
Theresa, Education Specialist at ZooAmerica North American Wildlife Park
“Although the U.S. is further ahead with treating women more as equals compared to other countries, there is still work to be done. I think this past year brought many things to the forefront regarding how women’s voices need to be heard and how the pandemic forced many women, often the primary caretakers, to make many sacrifices. Women are strong and resilient. There are virtually no jobs where women are not rising as leaders.”

Emily, Video Coach for the Hershey Bears hockey club
"To me, Women's History Month means a time to remember all of the strong, innovative women who have come before us. It is also a time to reflect on and appreciate all of the sacrifices they made to pave the way for younger generations. It also means staying committed to pushing forward and breaking boundaries in every aspect of life.”

For our Hershey Entertainment Complex Leadership team, Women's History Month means an array of items.

According to Heather, assistant general manager, entertainment, "...an opportunity to see how women have evolved and grown in society."

Assistant General Manager, Hersheypark, Laura adds, "It is a to celebrate and give thanks to the women and men that have given of themselves to further the opportunities and growth for women. It is also a time for me to explore how I can contribute to the next generation of young women.”

Vikki, general manager, Hershey Entertainment Complex says, "It provides the chance to spotlight and celebrate talented women - like her colleagues Laura and Heather!"
