HE&R Team Members Celebrate Black History Month
Throughout February, Hershey Entertainment & Resorts (HE&R) marked Black History Month, a celebration of African American culture, community, and heritage. During the month, team members learned about the impact Black Americans made on business, entertainment, and education through a series of informational and awareness communications. Additionally, we asked some of our team members to share what Black History Month means to them.
"Black History Month means a time for reflection and appreciation for the people who put in the work to get us where we are today, and for those who fought for the rights of everyone.’
"Black History Month means a celebration of African American culture, community, history, and heritage. I think one of the reasons for racial tension and misunderstanding stems from a lack of knowledge and/or misinformation about other races. This month helps to inform and educate people.”
"Black History Month is an opportunity for us to share our culture. We celebrate it every day! It’s great for others to expand their minds. We do not have to hide from slavery. There are people who came from that who changed the face of our country and left their mark on arts, engineering, science.”
"With Black History Month and the awareness it brings, I hope that racism will one day no longer exist and that career-related opportunities for Black Americans continue to increase."
