HE&R Celebrates 2024 Tribute to Women of Excellence Honoree
We are proud to celebrate Hershey Entertainment & Resorts’ (HE&R) Assistant Director of Human Resources Support, Amanda Murry, for her recent recognition as one of the YWCA Greater Harrisburg Tribute to Women of Excellence honorees! Along with 26 extraordinary women from Central Pennsylvania, Amanda was honored at a dinner held on Tuesday, March 19, at Hershey Lodge.
Amanda began her career at HE&R almost 20 years ago as a part-time turndown housekeeper at The Hotel Hershey, then transitioned to Human Resources (HR) in 2009 as an intern and promotion to a full-time team member in 2010. In her current role, Amanda leads a team of HR professionals that assist individuals throughout their journey as team members with HE&R. “Our HR Support Center and Hersheypark offices are the first part of contact for questions and concerns, either in person or over the phone. From how to apply for a job and retire to everything in between.”
Amanda has found support and camaraderie with her colleagues throughout the organization and recognizes their impact on her HE&R career. Several of Amanda’s teammates also proudly joined her at the Tribute to Women of Excellence dinner! “It’s the team of people that I work with, one hundred percent! Through everything you do, the people make it worth it - they’ve been supportive and fun, and so many different people have helped me grow over the years.”
With her husband, Sean, and chocolate lab, Bastian, by her side, Amanda enjoys hiking and exploring new places. She also supports HE&R’s Core Purpose of providing value to Milton Hershey School through participation in Project Fellowship and the M.O.L.D. mentorship program.
“It’s definitely humbling to be recognized! The nomination is not just for the job that you do but also for your contribution to the community. I do a lot with my church’s youth group and with children - a big part of my life is volunteering. I’m very grateful that people see the contributions that I’ve made, and I’m grateful to share the things that I like and do with others.”
