Celebrate the Most Wonderful Time of the Year at The Hershey Story Museum

Tradition reigns during the holidays at Hershey Story Museum! And it all begins with Little Elves Workshop, a holiday memory-making activity that begins on weekends starting Saturday, November 18, 2017, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., through January 1, 2018, and on some weekdays around Thanksgiving and Christmas.

In Little Elves Workshop, kids roll out chocolate clay and decorate it with icing to create a festive holiday ornament that can be enjoyed for many holidays to come. Children can also test out some cool vintage toys at Little Elves Workshop, and the whole family can pose in front of a snowy Hershey scene for a holiday photo opportunity; $5 per ornament; adults may accompany children at no charge.

Want to have a snowball fight? Then come to the The Hershey Story Museum on December 2, 9 and 16 for Snowball Saturdays! Kids toss around fluffy “snowballs” in the Museum’s Grand Lobby during scheduled times between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. In between the snowball tossing, kids can visit with Coco the Bear and our own friendly snowman. They can also listen to stories about wintertime fun. Snowball Saturdays are not only a blast, they’re also free. On Snowball Saturdays only, the Chocolate Lab also will be offering two special labs, “Marshmallow Mischief” and “Let It Snow Chocolate.”

And speaking of the Chocolate Lab, how about a class where you can learn about chocolate and create your own delicious chocolate treat? The Chocolate Lab is just that: part educational, part creating—and all fun. Each class is 45 minutes, suitable for kids ages 4 and up (and grown-ups, too!). Participants learn how cocoa beans are grown and harvested, then they make their own yummy chocolate creation. Holiday-themed classes begin Saturday, November 11, 2017, and run through Monday, January 1, 2018. Choose from “Candy Cane Bark,” “Chocolate Reindeer,” “Create a Kris Kringle” or “Make a Very Merry Bar.” Visit HersheyStory.org for a complete class schedule.

No Christmas is complete without a visit from Santa. On December 2, 9, 16 and 23, from 9 a.m. to noon, Jolly Ol’ Saint Nick will be making a stop at The Pantry Café at The Hershey Story Museum. Kids can give Santa their wish list while indulging in some special breakfast items. Delish!

Wrap up the holiday season with “bubble wrap stomps,” held on Sunday, December 31, at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Children have barrels of fun ringing in the New Year during the day by stomping on giant sheets of bubble wrap on the Museum’s patio. Hershey’s product characters will be visiting to join in on the fun. Best of all, it’s free!
