Celebrate the Season at The Hershey Story Museum

Families invited to create chocolaty holiday memories

Come experience the season and make some chocolaty holiday memories at The Hershey Story. Families will have fun visiting Little Elves Workshop, creating delicious holiday-themed treats in the Chocolate Lab and participating in friendly indoor snowball fights.

Little Elves Workshop

Weekends beginning Saturday, Nov. 23, with additional days around Thanksgiving and Christmas, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Kids will have fun rolling out chocolate clay and decorating it with icing to create a festive holiday ornament that can be enjoyed for many holidays to come. Children can also test out some cool vintage toys at Little Elves Workshop, and the whole family can pose in front of a snowy Hershey scene for a holiday photo opportunity; $5 per ornament; adults may accompany children at no charge.

Sensory-Friendly Little Elves Workshop

For guests with autism or other sensory-related sensitivities and their families or caregivers, Sensory-Friendly Little Elves Workshop will be held from 9-10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 28. A social story will be available on our website to help guests prepare for their visit. The program fee of $5 per ornament applies only to participants who create ornaments.

Snowball Saturdays

Saturdays, Dec. 7, 14 and 21, 2019; 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Free
Kids toss around fluffy “snowballs” in the Museum’s Grand Lobby during scheduled times between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. In between the snowball tossing, kids can visit with Coco the Bear of Hershey Bears Hockey and our own friendly snowman. They can also listen to stories about wintertime fun. On Snowball Saturdays only, the Chocolate Lab also will be offering two special labs, “Marshmallow Mischief” and “Let It Snow Chocolate.”

Holiday-themed Chocolate Lab Classes

And speaking of the Chocolate Lab, how about a class where you can learn about chocolate and create your own delicious chocolate treat? The Chocolate Lab is just that: part educational, part creating—and all fun. Each class is 45 minutes, suitable for kids ages 5 and up (and grown-ups, too!). Participants learn how cocoa beans are grown and harvested, then they make their own yummy chocolate creation.

Holiday-themed classes are held weekends through Sunday, Nov. 24, and daily beginning Friday, Nov. 29 through Wednesday, Jan. 1. Choose from “Candy Cane Bark,” “Chocolate Reindeer,” “Create a Kris Kringle” or “Make a Very Merry Bar.” Visit HersheyStory.org for a complete class schedule.

Breakfast with Santa at The Pantry Café

Saturdays, Nov. 30, Dec. 7, 14 and 21, 2019; 8 a.m.-noon
Families can have a delicious breakfast at The Pantry Café at The Hershey Story Museum and visit with Santa. The café will be offering breakfast specials in addition to its regular menu. Guests can bring a camera and snap a photo with Santa; no reservation required.

New Year’s Eve Countdown

Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2019; 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

Wrap up the holiday season with “bubble wrap stomps,” on Tuesday, Dec. 31, at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Children have barrels of fun ringing in the New Year during the day by stomping on giant sheets of bubble wrap on the Museum’s patio. Hershey’s product characters will be visiting to join in on the fun. Best of all, it’s free!

The Hershey Story is open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily with the following exceptions:

  • Thanksgiving Day – closed
  • Tuesday, December 24 – 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
  • Christmas Day - closed

Happy Holidays!
