Beat the Summer Heat at The Boardwalk at Hersheypark! ~ #HersheyparkHappy

This post originally appeared on mommarambles.com

Anyone else feeling that summer heat? Summer is here and Hersheypark Amusement Park is open for business!! The Summer Season is in full swing at Hershey The Sweetest Place on Earth! and we couldn’t be more excited. Why? Well because not only is Hersheypark packed with sweet fun, but it also offers The Boardwalk at Hersheypark, which is one of our favorite ways to beat the summer heat! The 11-acre water park has more than 16 attractions, and is included in your one-price Hersheypark admission!

The Boardwalk at Hersheypark

The Boardwalk at Hersheypark has two brand new attractions this year… Breakers Edge Water Coaster and Whitecap Racer! With that in mind, I knew we definitely had to hit The Boardwalk this season.

Once we arrived, we quickly secured a locker for our possessions. I love how easy it is to use The Boardwalk’s locker system! Simply purchase locker usage at the kiosk. Then place the machine printed wristbands on for easy opening of your locker. Just scan your wristband and it opens!

We headed to the Breakers Edge Water Coaster first. However just an FYI, both new attractions are located right next to one another for convenience!

They are both located between Shoreline Sprayground attraction and Intercoastal Waterway lazy river in The Boardwalk. Breakers Edge is actually the world’s first HydroMAGNETIC water coaster! I was so pumped to right this!

Guests ride the coaster on a four-person raft for a bobsled-like experience, while they ride over splash-filled hills and flying saucer turns.

The attendant informed my son he was to sit in the front, while I sat behind him. Since the Boardwalk had just opened, we were the only two in our raft.

He was a little nervous at first… but as you can see from the smile, he was just fine! Breakers Edge is a great thrill ride for the whole family.

The second new attraction is Whitecap Racer. This is actually the world’s longest mat racing slide! This attraction will take guests 70 feet high as they race to the bottom through side by side tunnels. Riders will speed through two tight 360 degree loops. My son was a little nervous to ride this one by himself, so we skipped it that day. But it certainly looks fun, doesn’t it?
