8 Family Friendly Things to do in Hershey, PA at Christmas Time

When you think of Hershey, PA, you might think of a summer destination. Theme parks, at first thought, often conjure images of water parks and hot afternoons riding roller coasters. Hershey does, of course, offer many things to to in the summer months. But you might be surprised to learn about all of the fun things there are to do in the winter as well! Here in the greater Philadelphia area, I have grown very accustomed to hearing the catchy “Christmas in Hershey… the Sweetest Place on Earth” jingle that runs on the television and radio throughout the holiday season. Last weekend I got to spend the weekend exploring many of the Christmas/winter activities that Hershey has to offer.

Check out these 8 Family Friendly Things to do in Hershey, PA at Christmas Time!

  1. Hersheypark Christmas Candylane: The theme park that we already know and love during the summer offers exciting holiday-themed entertainment throughout mid-November and December. When you visit Christmas Candylane, you will find a bunch of rides still open (80 rides, to be exact!) including several coasters. Enjoy hot cocoa or perhaps one of their King Sized Candy Milkshakes as you stroll the park. If you happen to visit after the sun goes down (and I highly recommend that you do) you will get to enjoy Christmas Lights EVERYWHERE!! My very favorite is the giant tree topped with a big Hershey Kiss. That tree is located in “The Hollow” where you can see the NOEL show nightly (every half hour from 5 pm to close). This light show features over 200,000 synchronized lights to a variety of different holiday tunes!
