12 Things To Do in Hershey, PA This April 2026

Hello, April! The Sweetest Place On Earth has a lot of exciting things happening across the destination this month. Keep reading to see some of the highlights. 

1. Homeschool Day at ZooAmerica

April 2; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

ZooAmerica North American Wildlife Park will host a dedicated Homeschool Day designed to provide an interactive educational experience for homeschooling students and their families. The theme for the day is "Animal Families," offering a curriculum-supplementing adventure focused on the different classes of the animal kingdom. 

The event will feature a variety of hands-on educational activities, engaging crafts and special animal enrichment. To help attendees navigate and make the most of the learning stations, complimentary educational booklets will be available for pickup at the Admissions Building. 

The Zoo is open daily in April (including Easter Sunday) from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

2. Spring Weekends at Hersheypark

April 3-5, 11-12, 18-19 and 25-26; Hours vary

Coaster riding season at Hersheypark has returned! The largest amusement park in Pennsylvania welcomes guests for seven Spring Weekends starting April 3 to enjoy thrilling coaster rides, family attractions, Hershey Character Sweet Greets, strolls through the zoo and a new lineup of signature eats and treats. Hersheypark Spring Hours: 

• Friday, April 3 (Good Friday): 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• Saturday, April 4 and 11: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• Saturdays from April 18 through May 16: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
• Sundays from April 5 through May 17: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. 

3. Hands-On Art at The Hershey Story Museum

April 11; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Families are invited to The Hershey Story Museum's lower-level classroom for hands-on art projects. Presentations by local artists from the Hershey Area Art Association are included with admission to the Museum Experience and will take place at the following times:

• 10:30 a.m. – Group collage and bookmark making
• 11:30 a.m. – Art in the Round: creating a renaissance painting
• 1:30 p.m. – Watercolor bookmark making

4. Party For The Planet at ZooAmerica

April 18; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

In recognition of Earth Day, ZooAmerica will host a Party for the Planet. This unique opportunity will allow guests to experience animal encounters and enrichment activities, celebrate the Earth’s biodiversity and learn how to help protect the planet we share together. Activities are included with general Zoo admission.

5. See A Hershey Bears Game

April 18-19; Times Vary

Join us for the final two home games of the 2025-26 regular season with the Hershey Bears as they conclude their 88th season of play in the American Hockey League with a pair of games at GIANT Center the weekend of April 18.

Hershey hosts the Bridgeport Islanders on Saturday, April 18 at 7 p.m. for Racing Night – the first 6,000 fans in attendance will receive a Bears license plate, courtesy of Toyota. The following night, the Bears conclude the regular season against the Rochester Americans at 5 p.m. for Fan Appreciation Night.

6. Sips & Sweets: An Evening in the Chocolate Lab at The Hershey Story Museum

April 24; 7 to 8 p.m.

Participants of this adults-only Chocolate Lab class will enjoy an array of chocolate desserts prepared in house as they observe a dessert-making demonstration by Chocolate Lab staff. In addition to a triple chocolate fondue and a variety of dippers, desserts include a milk, white and dark chocolate three-layer mousse and Peach Melba with white chocolate ice cream. The evening also includes a specialty mocktail. This BYOB night is for guests 21 and up; $35 per person; registration required at HersheyStory.org.

8. Enjoy a Fun-To-Table Meal at The Chocolatier

At The Chocolatier Restaurant, Bar + Patio guests can savor a signature lineup of iconic eats like the famous Ferris Wheel Sampler and the Chocolatetown Burger, alongside a variety of specially crafted cocktails for patrons aged 21 and older.

On Thursday nights this month, diners can meet Coco, The Official Mascot of the Hershey Bears. Plus, with the purchase of a kid's entrée, younger guests will receive a complimentary kid's dessert during their visit. Reservations are highly recommended.

10. Spring Treats in the Chocolate Lab at The Hershey Story Museum

Make your own spring-inspired chocolate treat in the interactive and educational Chocolate Lab at The Hershey Story Museum. Spring-themed class options include:

• Egg-citing Chocolate Bark
• Marshmallow Bunny Tails
• Spring Bar

Tickets for the Chocolate Lab are available for purchase at the front desk on the day of the class. Please note that children must be at least 5 years old to enter the lab.

11. Happenings at Hershey Gardens

Hershey Gardens is offering a host of family-friendly events in April, and by mid-April, there will be early signs of amazing tulips—28,000 of them! In addition to 23 acres of botanical beauty, admission to Hershey Gardens includes the indoor tropical butterfly atrium, where it’s always a balmy 78 degrees.
