There are only 58 days until the Hershey Half Marathon…but who’s counting?

If you haven’t registered already, you’re probably wondering “how can the Hershey Half Marathon really be different from any other half marathon race?” Half marathons are all the rage right now - you can’t visit a destination that doesn’t have its own version of a half marathon series. But, do other destinations have Hershey’s Characters, Hersheypark, or chocolate aid stations? We don’t think so! See 8 reasons why the Hershey Half Marathon is the ‘sweetest’ race around below:

There’s no other race that allows you to run your way through Hershey The Sweetest Place On Earth! Jog by Laff Trakk, The Boardwalk At Hersheypark, and other rides as you race your way through Hersheypark.

Need we say more? There’s nothing you’ll want more than chocolate as you prepare to finish your race. You know...studies have proven that chocolate is beneficial to your health…

• Kid's Fun Run.

Don’t keep all of the fun to yourself – share it with your little one! The Hershey Half Marathon Weekend festivities feature something for every age. Who knows…maybe the Hershey’s Characters will even make an appearance to cheer on the kids?

• A portion of the proceeds goes to Children’s Miracle Network.

The final (and probably ‘sweetest’) reason is that the Hershey Half Marathon benefits Children’s Miracle Network at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital. Funds raised from the event go directly to patient services, research, equipment, program services and educational resources at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

In addition to our list above, all half marathon participants will receive a long sleeve tech shirt, goodie bag, post-race refreshments, and two tickets to Hersheypark In The Dark. And, as an added bonus, The Spa At The Hotel Hershey will be offering complimentary post-race massages to runners at Hersheypark Stadium on a first-come-first-serve basis.
