MLK Weekend 2020: Things to Do in Hershey, PA

New restaurant opening, family fun and more

Looking for something to do on this long weekend? Look no further....there's plenty of sweet things happening even during the winter months throughout Hershey The Sweetest Place On Earth! Grab your loved ones and choose from some of our ideas we've outlined below.

Dine at the newest restaurant in town

Enjoy an evening at Hershey Lodge's newly reimagined restaurant, Revelry Chophouse, Bar & Patio! Opening on Friday, Jan. 17, Revelry (formerly The Forebay) will offer a refreshed dinner menu focused on classic and contemporary chophouse fare with premium cuts and the largest wine and spirits list available throughout the property. Located in the heart of the resort above the main lobby, yet tucked away, Revelry will be the perfect setting for a night out, or, for guests of Hershey Lodge, a night in. Be sure to try one of the restaurant's signature dishes, such as the 34-ounce Tomahawk Ribeye for 2 or the Snake River Farms Wagyu “Eye” of Ribeye, and add some Chocolate Stout Steak Sauce for an extra Hershey's touch. Hours are 5-11 p.m. daily.

Cheer on the home team

The Hershey Bears are having a thrilling season and the team is home for two games this weekend! They take on the Hartford Wolf Pack on Saturday, Jan. 18 at 7 p.m. and the Rochester Americans on Sunday, Jan. 19 at 5 p.m. Be part of the excitement and bring your friends and family to cheer on the home team!

Visit ZooAmerica - free for kids!

Did you know winter is one of the best times to visit ZooAmerica North American Wildlife Park? Open year-round, the animals on exhibit outdoors are much more active and easier to see this time of year. All month long, kids ages 8 and under can visit for FREE on Saturdays and Sundays for ZooAmerica's Discovery Weekends! This weekend, birds are the featured animal, where guests can learn more and experience an up-close "animal encounter."

Take the kids to Hershey Theatre

"Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood Live" arrives Hershey, Pa., on Saturday, Jan. 18 for shows at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Hershey Theatre. Daniel Tiger will take live audiences on an interactive musical adventure to the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, sharing stories of friendship, helping others and celebrating new experiences. Join “O” the Owl, Katerina Kittycat, Prince Wednesday, Mom and Dad Tiger and many more from this PBS Kids Show favorite.

Experience the tropics, indoors

The indoor Butterfly Atrium at Hershey Gardens is the perfect way to keep warm while learning about dozens of rare butterflies from South and Central America, Africa, and Asia. The tropical setting of the Atrium provides fun for every member of the family.

Learn about our founder

The Hershey Story Museum honors and preserves the life and legacy of Milton S. Hershey, the town he created and the lives he touched. Museum exhibits explore Mr. Hershey's early failures, how he successfully revolutionized the process of making milk chocolate, the "other" model town he built in Cuba and how he and his wife, Kitty, created Milton Hershey School. Today the School stands as the Hersheys' legacy and is the world's largest residential home and school for children in financial and social need.

While you're at The Hershey Story, grab tickets for interactive Chocolate Lab and Chocolate Tastings experiences.
