Not only do we get an extra day in 2020, but it's on a Saturday! Spend your Leap Year weekend in Hershey The Sweetest Place On Earth. There's plenty to do! Check out some of the ideas we've outlined below.
Celebrate Chocolate-Covered February!
We celebrated the treat that makes our town so sweet all month long, but Saturday marks the last day of our 16th annual Chocolate-Covered February!
- ZooAmerica surprises its animals with a fun chocolate-themed animal enrichment activity.
- The Hershey Story Museum has special Chocolate Lab classes including "The Heart of Chocolate," "Try It With Truffles" and "Berry Lovely Bar."
- Hershey's Chocolate World has a chocolate sculpture on display plus a parade and chocolate-inspired tastings.
- Devon Seafood + Steak in downtown Hershey has a special three-course chocolate-inspired prix fixe menu.
- Houlihan's Restaurant + Bar and restaurants at The Hotel Hershey and Hershey Lodge also have special chocolate-infused menu items.
Cheer on the home team
The Hershey Bears are having a show-stopping season. They're currently in first place in the Atlantic Division and second in the Eastern Conference. They take on rival Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Saturday; puck drops at 7 p.m. Be part of the excitement and bring your friends and family to cheer on the B-E-A-R-S, BEARS BEARS BEARS!
See the Broadway show, "BANDSTAND"
"Bandstand," the Broadway show that explodes with infectious music and high-octane, heart-stopping dancing, visits Hershey Theatre on Saturday with performances at 2 and 8 p.m. Before you go, check out this behind-the-scenes look at the story behind the show.
Experience the tropics, indoors
The indoor Butterfly Atrium at Hershey Gardens is the perfect way to keep warm while learning about dozens of rare butterflies from South and Central America, Africa, and Asia. The tropical setting of the Atrium provides fun for every member of the family.

The Hershey Story Museum honors and preserves the life and legacy of Milton S. Hershey, the town he created and the lives he touched. Museum exhibits explore Mr. Hershey's early failures, how he successfully revolutionized the process of making milk chocolate, the "other" model town he built in Cuba and how he and his wife, Kitty, created Milton Hershey School. Today the School stands as the Hersheys' legacy and is the world's largest residential home and school for children in financial and social need.
