Hersheypark In The Dark Now Open for Five Weekends Through Nov. 1

Halloween Event Marks First Fall in New Hershey’s Chocolatetown Region

Hersheypark amusement park, a 121-acre theme park with family-friendly rides and thrilling coasters, is kicking off its Hersheypark In The Dark Halloween attraction today. The seasonal event will run for five weekends - more than ever before - through Nov. 1, 2020. Event hours are Fridays from 5 to 9 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 2 to 9 p.m.

Guests attending Hersheypark In The Dark will be the first to experience fall in Hershey’s Chocolatetown, an all-new region at Hersheypark that opened to the public over the Fourth of July weekend. The $150 million expansion features an entirely reimagined arrival experience, the world-class Candymonium hypercoaster, an iconic Kisses fountain, a new home for the 101-year-old Carrousel, new shopping locations with exclusive fall apparel, the first-ever Starbucks inside the Park, a virtual reality experience, and more.

Family-Friendly Rides and Thrilling Coasters

During Hersheypark In The Dark, mild to wild rides and coasters will be open, weather permitting. Thrill-seekers can enjoy night rides and a themed light package on Candymonium, the tallest, fastest, longest and sweetest coaster in Hersheypark with the most airtime of any of its coasters. Thrill-seekers can also enjoy lights-out rides on three wooden roller coasters - Lightning Racer, Wildcat and Comet. The indoor glowing Laff Trakk coaster will also be dark throughout Park operation.

Trick-Or-Treating for Young Guests

The seasonal event will also feature trick-or-treating for guests ages 12 and under. A trick or treat trail with 13 candy stops will begin at Hershey’s Chocolate World Attraction and wind to a new Treatville location in The Boardwalk At Hersheypark. This new location will feature themed stops with new decorations throughout a larger area with ground markings and signage to remind guests of appropriate social distancing requirements. Guests will enter the area to enjoy 10 stops with hand sanitizer at each stop as team members wearing gloves and face coverings distribute candy to children age 12 and under directly into their bags. Costumes are welcome but costume masks are not permitted. Face coverings are required for guests over the age of 2.

Other entertainment offerings include festive Hershey Character appearances and select performances of "Our Friends from the Sea" show starring two Atlantic harbor seals, Mango and Cocoa.

Creatures Of The Night at ZooAmerica

ZooAmerica North American Wildlife Park will host Creatures Of The Night zoo program from 6-8 p.m. on the same nights as Hersheypark In The Dark. This is the only time of year ZooAmerica is open after dark, so guests of all ages are encouraged to bring a flashlight for an exploration into the nighttime habits of the nocturnal North American animals. Creatures Of The Night is included in admission to Hersheypark In The Dark when entered from within Hersheypark. Separate admission is also available at the zoo’s off-street entrance. Indoor locations at the zoo will remain closed during the event. For more information, visit ZooAmerica.com.
