Hersheypark Christmas Candylane is Here!

Many people know that Hersheypark Christmas Candylane is a spectacular place to visit with the family during the holiday season. What some don’t know is that it takes many hours, days, weeks, months and most importantly - people - to get Hersheypark ready for this magical time of year. So, we wanted to share something special that one of our very own employees wrote.

Christmas Candylane Poem by Bob Smith:

‘Twas two weeks before Candylane and all through the park,

Everyone was stirring to put away Hersheypark In The Dark.

Candylane was coming there was no doubt,

We better get moving to change everything out.

Halloween came down as quick as can be,

Christmas lights must come in for all to see.

The boys at NOEL were still hanging their lights,

They'd been at it since Labor Day and could see the end in sight.

Volunteers were everywhere helping us out,

Many offices empty to bring this all about.

The high reaches were all up in the air,

Stringing lights and gumballs leaving none to spare.

Elf one and Cindy Lou Who were seen everywhere,

Urging and encouraging all with much care.

The mechanics string lights, the electricians run cords, the carpenters put Santa up on the Comet boards.

The sign shop, the painters, the plumbers all pitch in,

Everyone works together tis the season we're in.

As Veterans’ Day rolls around and the park opens up,

We’ll be glad for the smiles as all the people show up.
