Hershey Gardens Debuts Designer Christmas Trees for the Holidays

The Milton & Catherine Hershey Conservatory at Hershey Gardens has decked its halls with designer Christmas trees this holiday season. In keeping with the Yuletide spirit, The Christmas Tree Showcase at Hershey Gardens is a merry and bright collection of six professionally decorated Christmas trees, with a 14-foot red and white poinsettia tree taking center stage. Each decorated evergreen tree is the creation of a different local florist—and each one is beautiful.

On display in the Conservatory’s Educational & Horticultural Wing through January 1, 2019, The Christmas Tree Showcase at Hershey Gardens is sure to make guests’ visit to Hershey Gardens merry and bright. Each tree captures the spirit of the season in its own, unique way, with sparkling lights, shiny baubles and even butterflies and glowing lanterns. Local floral designers include:

A huge, handmade owl perched high on a piece of giant driftwood is the focal point of one tree, while a tree decorated in the spirit of How the Grinch Stole Christmas is a whimsical nod to the infamous green curmudgeon. Kids will especially love these trees, because they’ll receive a special pair of glasses that will allow them to see something special in the tree lights.

Speaking of children, The Children’s Garden is also getting in on the holiday festivities. Six trees in the Education Center will also be decorated with handmade ornaments crafted by local elementary students. Participating schools include:

  • Hershey Elementary School
  • Milton Hershey School
  • St. Joan of Arc
  • The Vista School

On select days during December, kids can paint a wooden ornament to take home as part of a new program called “Crafty Christmas Creations.” And for those who prefer to spend the holidays in the tropics, the Butterfly Atrium will be adorned with seasonal embellishments. Even the butterflies and bugs are hoping Santa will stop by!

The Christmas Tree Showcase, Crafty Christmas Creations and the Butterfly Atrium are all included in Hershey Gardens admission. Please visit HersheyGardens.org for ticketing information and for a complete listing of upcoming events.
